What are your PS3-slim predictions? - Jun.-17th-2008 5:25:58

Status: offline 		Every console generation sees Sony making a slimmer,smaller and more feature-packed edition of their PlayStation platforms. My question is, when do you think Sony will release a slim version of the PS3? Do you think Sony will neglect this tradition and stick with the original design,exclusively focusing on bigger HDDs and PSN-capabilities?

My prediciotn would be an E3 2009 announcement and a holiday-09 release for a PS3-Slim...

Status: online 		Didnt both the psone and the ps2 slim actually cut features? like rarely used output ports and such, as well as  dodgy compatibilty with some of the systems games.

i just hope they reduce the price of the big system.

Status: online 		im guessing A LONG time from now.... if its supposed to have a 10 year life then i dont see the slim coming out til year 4 or 5 at least

    Status: offline     		By 2009, slim will come. It will need to be cheaper than the original playstation significantly. BC will most likely be cut completely but it will be slim and very very sexy. I will definitely pick it up.

    Status: offline     		i'm guessing 2010 at the earliest, 2009 seems a little early and I doubt that they will be able to minimize the components significantly enough for a release next year

    I agree though they did make the components a little bit smaller in the 40 GB already.

    Status: online     		ahh..but the slim psp actually added features that the fatty cant have.  So I don't see why anyone would prefer old skool over the slim, except for the fact that it is easier to hack.

    Plus the slim silver is soooo sexy...thats the one i have

    Sony will announce the PS3 slim (aka PSTriple) when the next 360 is announced.
