What gives them the right to completely slam Brothers in Arms?  What game has Treyarch made that is so damn superior?  I was considering buying World at War, but after listening to that load of BS, I know what game I will save 60 dollars on.  Anybody else find what they said rediculous?

And he also mentions Gears of War for games the "do great storytelling"!?  Seriously, what is Treyarch thinking?

(btw, this can all be found in the first minute)

It will make me happy if they fail with CoD5.

but, it will also make me happy if they do a great job.

Im not gonna go as far as to say, "im not gonna buy their game". It was just one guy speaking out of his ass.

Part of me wants it to fail because I hate arrogance and pot shots at other developers/games.

Well, part of me wants it to fail also.  But having a great FPS sounds much better than watching a bad developer fail, even if the developer deserves it.

I completely hate that guy now. I hate how he names all the recent big shooters and not the shooters that ACTUALLY do have good story telling. (not saying Bioshock doesnt have good story telling but there are better examples of good story telling than the games he mentioned)

yeah, he's a douche for putting down BIA. Both BIA Hells Highway and COD5 will be great games, as to why he said it, its their competitor and its just smack talk. It dosen't make me not want to by COD5 now, no more than when one hockey team is smack talking another hockey team makes me want to never watch hockey.

a) Generally, sports teams show respect towards one another.  There was no respect given from this guy.  At all.

b) That analogy doesn't really make sense, seeing as how I said I wouldn't buy their game, not give up gaming altogether.

ok, bad analogy.....but I'm sure you get what I'm trying to say, they're just competing against each others, and not all competitors aren't going to take a cheap shot every now and then.

What a shame, as if they didnnt have enough pressure to pull off a superb game, their mouth will end up costing them what could've been a fresh take on WWII

Its just developer trash talk really and they are just taking hits at the competition. COD is a bigger franchise and they have obviously put a lot into COD5 so understand why they aren't too happy

What aren't they too happy about?  That their games haven't been as good as IW CoD games?  If they are angry that people are dismissing their version of CoD, who do they have to blame?

I understand devs trying to make their games sound more appealing than the competition, but to completely bash a game and show zero respect for another dev studio putting so much hard work into a game, when your own have been nothing to brag about, only means you don't deserve the repect, and recognition, you are trying to achieve.

Well i was one of the very few that didn't really care for COD4 so i don't really see COD5 being my cup of tea however treyach is obviously just angry that they don't get enough respect. Maybe they don't deserve it but i can sort of understand their intentions.

There's the reason why people are so unhappy now with Teryarch making next COD instead of IW.

I've sort of gone off of war-themed FPS games altogether for a while now, so I'm not outraged or anything, but this is just another chapter in the extensive series of douchebag comments in the gaming industry today.

Yes but what is so great about IW's CoD games?

As much as I like CoD4 and CoD2, not played CoD1 they were damn great games but they had alot of flaws and I mean alot. The support from IW is so awful, hell EA gives more support to its games than IW has ever done. Treyarch are a good developer and its been shown in Call of Duty 2: Big Red One which appeared on the Xbox and PS2, then there was Call of Duty 3, they had 8 months to make Call of Duty 3 and look at it, its still a fun and great game.

I just don't get the hate for this game, maybe there are so many IW fanboys here many not.

I definitly don't know about community matters of IW since I never play online but I still think they are a much better team. COD1 was a huge step forward for WW2 games. COD2 was great and COD4 was just excellent IMO. Not flawless but seriously well made with many neat multiplayer ideas that I didn't play with enough but even thje short singleplayer alone was really great.
Also, they are the team that put good effort into all 3 versions of the game (PC, PS3 and 360) and that's one of the reasons I respect them so much.

Treyarch made the abysmal Spiderman 3. Their COD3 was nothing but a graphically upgrade to COD2 and seriously, who wants to leave modern combat? Finally, their COD5 is coming to PS2, Wii and others, meaning this is a cash-in for Activision and no real next-gen game.
Real next-gen games are either Wii exclusive or PS360 / PC exclusive. Making a game for both Wii and PS360 is plain stupid. It prevents it from next-gen AI and physics on PS3 and 360 since level design and everything has to be shared while Wii version gets tacked on motion controls.

That's why all of last years games and even this years have been exclusive to either Wii or HD-consoles.
