Well i read submission reports that often say
"its not a legit site"
Well my question is, when gametrailers, gamespot, ign, ect were newly created where they considered "legit" ?
Most likely not because they were small sites when they first started off.
Lets say that gametrailer said "playing games is now illegal in the united states." Would you consider that to be "legit" because it came from a very big site which is considered by many to be a veru legit gmaing site.

so my question is, what makes a site "legit"

Building a positive creditable reputation over time makes you a legit site.
If the site consistently provides quality news, previews, reviews, articles etc. then its creditability grows and is considered legit.

ah
but if you are a new site, then people cant use the "its not legit" card
new sites need to start out some where
its a catch 22

if you are new , you dont have  a reputation yet
to have a reputation you need to exist for a good amount of time *generally*

I think that would be in reference to original news pieces.
Reviews, previews and so on is a different matter.

Without N4G, we wouldn't be what we are today. Though, I never had anything failed for the legit issue.

Though, I stay away from the controversial / rumours.
