Projection date of when you will be too old to play video games or follow gaming industry ?

I would like to think that I will be liek the odd few grand parents who are so good at gaming they make the grand kids feel stupid.  I want to beat the hell out of my grand kids one day So they will actually look forward to meeting Grandpa   rather than wait to inherite his money !

How do you guys feel about retirement age from gaming?

I've been a gamer since I was a kid and I'll be a gamer until I can't hold a controller or push a button anymore.

I did an Operation: Granny Snatch at work yesterday.  (Thats what we call taking an elderly woman OUT of a home and putting her back in with her kids move.  Basically because our economy sucks and she can't afford to live there anymore.  She's 98 years old.  Anyway I'm in alot of these places and the other day I saw a bunch of old people playing the Wii.  An old man in his 80s loved the bowling game.  Loved it.

I **** you not.

I've been slowly quiting for awhile now... heck i've been on vacation for the past week and haven't played a single game (Though tonight i'm going to finally play CoD4 for the first time).  I just get bored with my games and end up trading them in.  Soon another game that I "have to have" will come out, i'll buy it and then lose interest, possibly before I beat it.  Who knows when I finally decide I don't feel like picking up that controller ever again... but i'd imagine it's not too far off.

NEVER !!
i didn't start till i was in my early 50s.
then i got my first gamecube, then xbox, then DS, then wii.
now i'm totally hooked. can't wait till X-Play goes to 1 hour per day!!!
games are so fascinating, movies tend to bore me now. no interaction, no thinking, just
sitting there watching. passively.
i think anyone can enjoy gaming no matter what their age.
even people with a degree of dimensia could enjoy playing, especially on the wii.
and i must tell you, i got link's crossbow training game for xmas, and i beat my much
younger roommate at it!! it made me very happy!
take THAT!! young pup.

There isn't a need to retire from gaming.  It is just a hobby like anything else.  The nice thing about it is that it is not a physically demanding past time so people can still enjoy gaming even at an old age.

I am an avid movie watcher but I think gaming is far more interactive.  That is why I always laugh at parents who don't want their kids gaming much but they will le them sit in front of the television all day.

I don't really follow the gaming industry now, since all the industry posts seem to be about HD DVDs.

I will probably never stop playing games though. Unless I move someplace where playing games isint really worth all the hastle or trouble to  play them, like some place far away from modern civilization, sounds nice. But no matter what, I still have to have the Internet. Now that is something I can't do iwthout.

Probably never. The age of gamers is always increasing, and I've grown up with the industry. I'll probably play less, but never quit.

I have done everything I have ever wanted to do inside of a video game. Everything is just an amplification of what I have already done perviously in a game. So perhaps after end of the Resident Evil series(number 5).
