And this a original Xbox game, I remember playing with my friend(who actually owns a Xbox unlike me) and it was a blast. The graphics were unbelieveable to me.

Anyone know anything about the new one?

I think i heard that it's suppose to be at E3, apart from that there has been a few new screens of it but still seems like a 2009 release even if they say 2008 at the moment.

Yes. Dark Athena will be at E3  according to reports. And yes,it should be an early 2009 release
on PS3 and 360. It was indeed the best game on the XBOX.

It is a remake. Still good news for those of us who never played the original as I hear it was great. I'm kind of worried, though, as the devs "Starbreeze" made what I consider to be the one of the worst PS3/360 titles ever in "The Darkness".

Well, it's not a simple remake. Also, it has one additional and completely new chapter that happens after original's ending (Escape from Butcher Bay... hey, it was not a spoiler).

Wow, are you series? Darkness was one of the best IMO with superb story and music. Darkness powers were cool too. Only the ending was a bit too rushed.

I though The Darkness was one of the most original game i played this gen. The controls were bad yes but i thought they were manageable.

ya overall I thought the Darkness was really good, the story and the way the game sucked you in was amazing, and the darkness powers were really great. Esp the one where you can just impale people on your giant arm and throw them around.... Good stuff.

Yeah also the upclose finishers, they were so brutal and gory.

The game looked cool enough and the story was alright (ish) but the way it controlled absolutely murdered that game for me, though. Maybe if they would have mde it a first person RPG or something it might have been manageable, but if you're making an FPS the controls need to be there and they just weren't. The guns didn't feel like they were having any impact, the aiming was seriously twitchy and the way they tried to make the characters movements look cool was a neat idea, but it just made the whole thing feel way to sluggish and loose. Also the side missions were weak, there were a few glitches that made it impossible to complete certain missions if you didn't do them in the right order. The WW1 sections of the game were ugly and seriously boring to play through and the gangster story they were telling was kind of cool, but all the supernatural elements didn't really make a whole lot of sense. Then there's the multiplayer...blech.

Anyway, as you can tell, I didn't like it. Hopefully the sequel is better because I really liked the art direction and darkness powers have potential if implemented better.
