Who here in N4G appreciates their PS3?

Who here does not feel the need to whine about issues regarding their PS3, and you just like playing games on it and appreciating what it has to offer?

Who here is not selfish and materialistic to the point where nothing is ever enough in regards to features you want for the PS3?

Is there anyone here who enjoys their game system without complaining about this teensy thing, or that media thing, or this home media hub thing, or that technical thing...?

Is there anyone here who just treats their PlayStation 3 like a game system, as it should be, first and foremost?

Is there anyone here who can answer me?

Show your appreciation for your PS3 with a few words. Justify your PS3 purchase. Tell the doubters and the nay-sayers to go to hell, and just tell me here, in this thread, how much you really enjoy your system.

I'm sick of all the nitpicking and bitching I hear on a constant basis about the PS3, and it needs to stop.

Agree?

I do. Though Sony could improve it even more. And not realizing that will NOT benefit you.

Being a music, movie and video game fanatic, it's the only console that suits my needs. I don't consider myself one more than the other because I have a deep appreciation for all three.

Music: I can play my music on my surround using my PSP as the remote control, play it remotely from anywhere and generally, most Sony first party titles have a huge budget for epic scores. Case in point, the God of War series, Killzone and Team Ico games. Most recent examples are Heavenly Sword and Uncharted, both which have good soundtracks, but nothing to write home about.

Movies: This one's obvious I think. I've got my system connected via HDMI to a 7.1 PCM capable receiver and a 1080p tv. Movies have never sounded or looked better and for me personally, I get a thrill out of it because it's something I like alot. I use it to stream high definition TV-Shows and movies off my PC. In terms of games again, Sony's first party games have the most cinematic feel to it which pleases me. Great examples are Metal Gear Solid, Most RPG's, God of War, Shadow of the Colossus, etc, etc, etc.

Games: Entirely subjective: I've been loving what I've been playing, that's all that really matters. To one person, the games that are exclusive on PS3 are nothing special, to another, they're exactly what hits the right spot. I won't go into this.

So yeah, I can't complain about it because I don't really feel like it's missing anything in terms of what I wanted it to do. Extras like in-game messaging are nice, but maybe that's it. It's the only thing I can think of.

Firstly, I think the fact that most adults seem to instantly assume that any games console is a "Playstation" tells us two things:

1) The name "Playstation" is an awesome name, seriously awesome.
2) Sony, and it's Playstation brand have come out on top two times in a row, and it seems as if they may just about become the first company to do it a third time... making the name "Playstation", synonomous with gaming, to the extent at which even computer-illiterate old age pensioners know the name.

No way is the PS3 perfect, nothing is. Nor will it satisfy everyone's needs. However, out of the three consoles available this gen, it is, in fact, the best value, both for gaming and otherwise.

Not to mention that Sony owns the most (and, without a doubt, the best) first party studios around, which means they've got the most important factor covered: the games.

All three consoles are fantastic, but if I had to pick one and one only... well, you can guess what I'd pick

Sorry to go on for so long... but, this is an appreciation tread...

I love my PS3! The only thing is firmware 2.20 has caused my PS3 to misread my NAT type. I'm not the only one with this problem. I hook my PS3 up directly to modem and always got NAT Type 2 (I know direct to modem is suppose to be NAT Type 1 but my ISP assured me it was something to do with them). Now, Type 3 is what my PS3 says. Its not Type 3. I had someone from my ISP come over and I turned on the PS3 (Type 3) then he unhooked the cable and plugged it into his laptop and said yep its NAT Type 2. This isn't really a horible thing because my online experience is still smooth and I can talk online and everything. Just seeing it say NAT Type 3 bothers me thats all.

Despite all this I still love my PS3 and the 360 is something I just don't want or need. Right now I'm enjoying GT5 prologue. I've had it 3 days and I'm working on class A now. After you finish Class A you can tune your car. I love my PS3. Bring on GTA IV.

I love the PS3 so much that when the Gunmetal MGS4 PS3 comes out I'm getting it. Best gaming console on the market. Period.

I appreciate my PS3 a lot. With new games coming out, and the backwards capability feature, I'm glad that I paid good money for this system.

Only fake boy xbotx whine about PS3.  Anyone who has one is retarded if they cannot get satisfaction out of:
1.Resistance (40 player lag free FREE online)
2.Ratchet (Best platformer EVER)
3.Unchartered (Totally awesome, wish it was online as well game).
4.Motorstorm (Best looking, best soundtrack, best fun next gen racer this side of Motorstorm 2)
5.NG:Sigma (Who cares if it's a remake of a xbox1 game with better graphics, it's tops & I never played the xbox 1's)
6.The Darkness (Finished it and sold it, but was awesome offline)
7.COD4 (Multiplat, but still great)
8.Warhawk (Comon, this is the best online exclusive console game around at present)
9.Assassins Creed (Awesome, but not for everyone)
10.Tekken Online (It's Tekken, it's online, nuff said)
11.FREE ONLINE
12.The machine is the slickest looking machine of all time.
13. The games on their way obliterate all competitors for 2008.

I love my 360, but nothing can compete with the Sony 1st and 3rd party exclusives we know are coming.
