no one thinks that. your just bein paranoid. people only think anime>european and american cartoons. thats a fact

 

I dislike anime because they are cloning each other. Plots and characters are often identical in many animes.

I think the reason is pretty obvious... Western cartoons from the 60's 'til the 80's and maybe even the early 90's were really, really damn good. Hell, there are even a few Western cartoons out recently that are good (like those ones based on DC comics), but the number of watchable Western cartoons has steadily declined rapidly since the late 80's. So, because of that, the West has been taking more of an interest in simply better cartoons. I mean, what does the West have (in terms of recent cartoons made within the last five years) on anime like Fairy Tail, One Piece, Hajime no Ippo, Xam'd, Baccano or Darker than Black?

People simply either hate anime because they're the kind of people who hate Japan because of Japanophiles (as they label them), or because they're sour that there's no Thundercats or Pirates of the Dark Water for them to enjoy any more. Anime has just been going from strength to strength whereas Western cartoons have gone in the opposite direction. I guess that's the price to pay for political correctness - people simply lose interest.

any criticism of rap/hip-hop is justified, when i was younger i listened to rap, now i don't, musical evolution. There comes a point where you realise that they can't perform vocally, they get other people to write their lyrics....which are shallow anyway, they can't play instruments, and the entire genre is basically a marketing scheme for people with no real music taste.  Metal is the real ****, insane technical ability on their instruments, mastodon baby, the new kings of metal.

I don't mind your criticism but Blue Scholars write there own stuff so not all rap is shallow,  they also I believe make original beats and rarely sample. They may not be singers but Blue Scholars are still awesome, however besides Blue Scholars I'd agree with that consensus against all the mainstream performers.

i agree with the corrupt. its just pure jealousy. you can not hate honest entertainment thats not possible and some people are just upset that their nation dont get praise or any recognition across the globe.

anime isnt for everyone. but i for one enjoy it, not as much as i use to but i still watch some from time to time when i am bored

Hate anime? Why? What's their major malfunction?

There are a lot of great anime. Sure you can point at Pokemon and like and say it's all generic spikey haired goofbals. But it would also show how clueless you were about anime...

Some people just have a block in their brains that says Animated = for children, and some of it is.

Pokemon and DBZ were made with children in mind, but there are a lot of better anime out that that can be just as thought provoking as any motion picture.

I'm starting to get interested in anime. Very unique programming, especially the ones that are kept in Japanese and just contain subtitles. Also if you look at a few of them when they get brought over and "Americanized" they tend to get toned down quite a bit.

I agree with the Pokemon being made specifically for children but I'm not too sure about DBZ. It is rather quite violent and from what I hear the Japanese version(english subtitles) before it came over to be Americanized it supposedly contained a lot more blood, violence and cussing so im not too sure about that one. Maybe made for the teenage audience to young adults.

Eh, whatever. I don't know. It just seems to be a little too violent for the same kind of audience as pokemon.

Venture Bros is pure awesome and I think it's western.

Well I love anime. DBZ, and Yuyu Hakusho are full of greatness. And Japanese anime is always better than the localized english versions. And I guess its just not some people's cup of tea
