Is it just me or does Call of Dut 4 look extremely good in 3rd person? You know, I'm sure you guys have been killed in a Team Objective (or some other game mode) match and watched your fellow teammate in 3rd person. Surprisingly, I like the view of it. It makes the game look even more better than it already is, visually. I've always wondered what the game would look like in 3rd person, so I guess I might get my wish sooner or later.

On a side note, I don't believe Infinity Ward has any previous experience with the 3rd person shooter genre to the best of my knowledge, anyway. Regardless, these guys have proven themselves with Call of Duty 2 and the phenominal Call of Duty 4. So if anyone can do it, it's definitely these guys.

I wouldn't mind COD 3rd person. I generally prefer 3rd person view to first person.

I'd like the ability for 3rd person + aim downsight, which I'm sure they have no intention of removing.

That'd be pretty slick. And yes, I hope Treyarch gets booted from COD development and COD is brought away from WWII rehashes.

I also think a 3rd person viewpoint wouldn't be a difficult thing for them to do.

Semi realistic games fail when they are in 3rd person.  amount of stuff you can see when in 3rd person is far too much. I especially get annoyed how you can see around corners in 3rd person games. 3rd shooter games should not be very realistic gears has got it nailed .

SSSSSSooooooooooooooooo frigging awesome... I love more now than before 3rd person shooters that let you zoom in or raise the weapon up to a first person mode.. like Rainbow...

This is great news.... thank you for sharing Bloody sinner since I would have missed this most likely...

Depends on how it's done.

For example, MGO's is done so that the 3rd person aim point completely covers the view from behind you, so if someone has their gun up, you can take a chance at choking them from behind. But, if their gun is down, you'd be stupid to sneak up.

In COD, I would assume it would also have a very short amount of view behind your character as well.
