The Wii 2 was leaked (http://n4g.com/wii/News-418467.aspx)

The Wii 2 is said to have Blu-Ray so we will be able to have 1080p games on Wii now.
Now we all have a Wii and we all play it, but we all know that it is not the most popular for hardcore gamers. Will the graphics be a reason for it to be more successful? Once its out, the third quarter of 2010, we will all see who the "graphic whores" are, haha. No but will you get the Wii 2?

If it supports 1080p as standard, and has a better games library i will, i bought a wii and it was a disappointed, but i'm still a big Nintendo fan, I see no reason tp buy a console for graphics why pc will always look a lot better, but i'll get a wii 2 for a HD zelda etc for sure.

I don't believe that rumour one bit, Nintendo would never allow a leak like that and Nintendo of Europe is completely clueless to what happens in Kyoto.

I will be getting Nintendo's next console though, especially if it has decent third party support.

They've got A LOT to prove before they get any more money out of me.  Wii sucks for a lot of reasons that have nothing to do with the graphics.  Still, I'd love to see a real next gen Mario kart.

Despite the wii being a complete waist of any amount of money, being piece of **** (****, ****, take your pick), I have no problem admitting that Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy provided me with some of the best gaming hours of this generation. Even the thought of seeing a Retro game in HD has me cringing. 

And like Polluted said, if theres a chance for a real mario kart, then hell yes to that, but they still have a ****load to prove.

If it lives up to the rumors and is mass produced so you could actually get it at the release I would get one. I remember I had to wait 1 year to get myself a wii here in Norway. Always sold out, even where I used to live (only 9k lived there) It was a pain to get your hands on a wii -.-

As long as it comes with a Zelda or Metroid game where link does not transform into a damn animal... Everything's good to me. I skipped the Wii because that's just an overpriced GameCube. I mean, $250 for a console that looks worse than the first Xbox, infected with a crap load of shovelware when the PS3 and X360 offer so much more for $50
 more it's just insane! And even at $200 it still too freaking expensive man!

But seeing that this would be the second jump from the Cube, there should be a greater difference in graphics and features that will justify the price.

Nah. I don't believe that, not even for a second.

Nintendo said that their next  console will be even more compact than the Wii which means that it'll not pack that much juice unless blu-ray and the other components transistors start to be made at an ultra microscopic size. And looking how expensive and huge Blu-ray players are, I don't see this happening any time soon.

I highly doubt I'll be getting Nintendo's next console. The last Nintendo console that I've owned (not including handhelds) is the Super Nintendo.

During the SNES era, other than Donkey Kong and Mario, I never really got into a lot of Nintendo's other franchises (have never played Star Fox, console versions of Metriod, Zelda, etc...), and that's a pretty big reason why I've never really got back into Nintendo consoles, and why I probably won't be getting Nintendo's next console after the Wii, regardless of the possible rumored Blu-ray support or not.

Next Gen for Sony and Microsoft, yes. But Nintendo? They already started the Wii with last-gen hardware for the most part, so in a few ways Nintendo really hasn't had a next-gen console out. So for them, putting out an updated Wii next year is a very feasible move. While the 360 and PS3 hit their peak strides, Nintendo puts out something new, hopefully cheaper than their competition and try to make some more money.

Still though, I doubt I'll be getting it. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice...

I don't feel like I got my money's worth out of my current Wii and may never will. Unless the pull a unicron out of their ass and build a console better then the 360 and PS3 then I'll pass. And in ordr for them to do that they basically have to skip this gen in terms of the current 360/PS3 quality and do something better. That ain't happening. I don't think you can effectively build a "next, next gen" console before getting your feet wet in the "next gen" pool.

  

most definitly. nintendo is a qaulity hardware and game maker. nintendo wii hd dont need to surpassed  ps3 in graphics
 it just need to be able to challenge ps3 and i think the ones that complain about nintendo wii not offering them anything are the ones that have been spoil by ps3. wii hd will come out next year and it will offer everything ps3 offer

I agree, it almost feels like you've been tricked. I feel that way a lot. I feel like there was much more promised, much more that should have been, that never happened to trickle down into the actual games or hardware.

I'm still miffed by the WiiMotion Plus. That stuff should've been in the Wii Remote from the start.

You have to love Gaming journalism, Miyamoto was misquoted in the headline.
He was talking about making the Wii-mote smaller with motion plus integrated.

The reason Wii is not HD is due the fact back in 2006 there were more SD-tv's in japan than HD-tv's.

Next nintendo console is atleast HD~720P


Also consider the fact that the PS3 is down to 300, its very possible that Nintendo could make a Ps3 replica in 2010 to be sold for 250.

But as long Wii is doing well for them it could take a while.
