What do people who already have the game think of the Wii Wheel. I have not decided whether to buy Gt5p or this and the Wii Wheel may make or break the game in my eyes. However, if it is not good how well does the Wiimote control the karts. I may end up getting neither, please offer your thoughts.

From the previews I've seen the Wiimote+nunchuck combo is the best way to play.

Wiiwheel comes free with mario kart, and if you dont like the Wii wheel you still have other options.

I've seen some friends play with the Wheel and it seemed like they characters didn't turn. I would probably go with the other types of controls.

The Wii Wheel is fun, but it takes some getting used too. If you don't care for it, the traditional Wiimote + Nunchuk combo probably works best. The Wii Wheel comes free with the game, so if you don't like it, don't use it.

I don't understand how it could break Mario Kart.  You don't have to use it.  Hell, you don't even have to use the wiimote at all.  You can use a gamecube controller... which is the best option IMO.  So, while it might MAKE it, it certainly won't break it because you can just use something else.

Then you saw it wrong, The Wheel is VERY responsive.
The problem could have been the way he was holding the Wheel, since the Wii-mote traces all 3 XYZ axes you cant hold it in every position.

The wheel works fine I found it a little tiring on my arms though. Wiimote+nunchuck worked perfectly for me. The game is outstanding btw.

It actually works rather well.  I didn't get my arms tired though but I just had them on my lap while using the Wheel.  It's a hugh upgrade from Excite Truck in terms of control I can tell you that!  Out of the many races I did it only did something odd twice which was turn the other way I was turning... Probably something I did but who knows.  The big button on the back for the B button is a nice touch seeing that's for jump and drifting.  Doing the tricks on the bikes with just a flick back is kind of fun when I remember.

So yes the Wii Wheel is a nice addition to the Mario Kart series.  I'll be using it all the time till I get awesome at it  just because that's the way they want you to play it.  They just give the other options for people just in case they don't like their way.  I probably won't be getting any top runs anytime soon but that's minor.  I just like the feel of it.
