To think that Xbox 360 was the only one, my Wii did it too.
A perfect round scratch on my mario kart Wii disc.

I've sent an e-mail to Nintendo, so im waiting for a response.
I hope i can send in my disc and get a new one. Either way imma let you know how they handled it =).

I guess the ps3 is the only console with no hardware problems, even Nintendo cant get their hardware right! Damn, I guess the RROD box gave its sickness to the wii, disk scratching! Next thing you know the wii will get its own form of an RROD.

My PS3 froze up while I was playing Metal Gear Solid and had to restart everything over again... Well from where I left off anyways.

I'm on my 2nd Wii, and I recently bought my second PS3. Gunmetal. The original still works though. Ironically my 360 is fine, I just don't play it as much as the other two though.

That sucks sidar    Hopefully Nintendo'll replace both the Wii and the MK disc.  I've heard awesome things about Nintendo CS tho.  Have you dropped your Wii or had it tip over before?

PS3s have there Blu-ray drives conk out on em, happened to a mate of mine resently actually he was really peeved because the saves on the HD are locked to the system, he tried putting the HD in another PS3 and it refused to work unless he formatted it, so he had to spend ages copying everything to memory sticks.

Got his replacement one in about a week tho so it was pretty fast.

Wel they replied on my E-mail saying i should call the technical service.... ... ... ...i know i should have done that from the beginning.
They said i should send in the Disk and Wii( if the Laser caused the problem, then it might need to be fixed?XD) so thats what im gonna do.
They " might " replace the disk.......
So to be continued, i keep thy informed.

I just got a phonecall from one of the employees at Nintendo and he said:

"The scratch on the game disc is indeed caused by the Wii"

So i asked: Ok, so the Wii needs to be fixed

"Yes, but i see there is no receipt(spelling?)"

I replied with that i have one of the first Wii's

"Well, we can repair it against some costs"

I honestly thought: you know what, ok ill just pay for the repairs.
So he says " 91" euro's.....
ok...fair enough i guess.
But then he says for the game disk it will be 39 euro( at least thats what i heard over the phone but isnt that like almost the normal price).
So i actually felt they could go screw themselves.
First he admits its the Wii's fault yet i have to pay for a new gameDisc.
So i told him to send them both in without repair.

If im not mistaken there is this thing that removes Disc scratches.....so if that works screw CS =D XD

I am having trouble with Brawl because of one of Nintendo's dodgey firmware updates again (dirty disc my arse do they think everyone stupid).

is it a fault caused by ware and tier or a defect with the machine? if you can get them to admit that it is a inherent defect with the hardware then you can get trading standards on there arses.

Ryoko, from what I understand, the fault has something to do w/ early units having a particular drive that has trouble reading dual-layer discs such as Brawl.  I'm pretty sure Nintendo CS (at least here in the US) will fix the issue for free.  I bought my Wii in Jan '07 and haven't had any problems playing Brawl so I don't know the exact details of the issue.

Wow sidar, that is pretty ridiculous.  Whenever I feel like a customer rep for a large company is having trouble seeing things from my perspective, I usually tell them that I need time to think about it and then call back to talk to a different CS rep lol.

No console is perfect if you ask me. For every one hundred console manufactured there will be at least 5-10 ones.

Those round scratches are the worst kind. I had one on my old Battlefront PS2 disc 'cause someone knocked over the console with the game in it. Anyway I got it repaired at a video store and it sort of worked, but it would take like 10 minutes to load a level. Good luck with your MK disc.
