When FW 2.41 comes out, apparantly wednesday, will I have to download the update again ? updates always take FOREVER.

Download it again? Sorry but If its the first time the firmware update comes out then you can't Download it again, it will probably only be a few MB anyways like 10 second update I'd say.

You will have to update again on Wednesday. I'm in the same boat. Even small updates take forever. Try waiting until it's been out for a while if you can. It might have to do with jumping on the updates as soon as they're available as we N4G addicts tend to do.

when did they announce it for wed and it's speed depends on you connection.

I mean a 2.4X update. My internet connection is slow and updates can take 3 hours for me.

it is rumoured for wednesday and when asked about it sony europe sed they could not confirm this. Everyone thinks its wednesday.

Well considering that you cannot do anything online-wise until you update, yeah you are gonna have to update the PS3.

I think you can download it from a PC. So maybe like go to a friends house who has faster internet access, put it on a flash drive and use it on your ps3.

Can you do that?

yeah, but problem is the only firmware 2.40 you can find atm is from third parties and in addition we don't know when the firmware 2.41 is coming out people say Wednesday even though its yet to be confirmed.

my downloads always take no more than two-three minutes. A few minutes of waiting should not stop you from making sure your PS3 doesn't brick or enjoying all that the FW has to offer ( for those who never got a chance to download 2.4)

the 2.40 FW was 130 megs, it took me 20 seconds to download, they arent bad sizes and i really dont know why people say it takes forever
