When I play a game for a long time in one sitting the game I played stays in my mind for hours after.
As soon as I try and go to sleep after playing for a while I see the game in my mind, as if I am playing it, I hear all the sounds and see everything perfectly. I open my eyes, the game has gone, I close them again and I am playing the game. Once this happened with MGS4 and I didnt sleep for 3 days. Horrible experience, this is why I only play for a maximum of 3 hours in one sitting. Does anyone have the same experience ?

The top three in terms of residual imagery and psychological side effects are:

1. Tetris : Clearly the king, play this game for 30 mins before bed and you'll see blocks falling in your dreams.
2. Doom: The constant struggle to stay alive and demonic enviroments are extremely potent. This game left a mark on generations of gamers and none gamers a like. Its the number one target for the media whenever a school shooting breakout.
3. Counterstrike: Extremely addictive and "realistic" graphics frequently give college students flash backs while off line. I belive a South Korean college held conseling sessions for students who saw CS levels in the real world while off line.

Probably a tie with CS in the number 3 slot is Mortal Kombat: Just read the news.

I've played quite a few games that leave a lasting impression... one of those, the most recent one, was Shadow Man, and the first Silent Hill.

When I went to sleep last night and closed my eyes I could still see the HUD of Unreal Tournament 3 burned into my field of vision even though my eyes were closed.

This always happens to me. I just ignore it though and daydream about other stuff. Unless I'm doing really well in that game lol.

Never heard of this... The only time a game is stuck in my mind is when im thinking about it, like in math class when i first got COD4 all i would think about is playing online, but it wasnt stuck in my mind, i could always think of something else it was just something i wanted to think about...well one time i had a dream of RE4 that one of the guys with the chainsaw and bag over head was in my hallway and lifted me by my head and killed me then i respawned in the hallway again but i woke up lol

I played a flash game once where you had to untangle lines (don't laugh, I thought it was cool) but I was ill that night and could not shake it from my mind... that was an obscure night.

I couldn't get the damn battle theme music from Pokemon after playing for long periods of time when I was a kid.

I would look at tiles, and see colored blocks falling to my feet. Tetris IS the worst.
