I am only dissapointed because I thought loads of games would have patches out on day one so we can listen to ingame music and have trophies straight away, but we are having to wait for it all to take off. I do think ingame xmb is extremely useful and is a success though, I am overall happy with it.

EDIT: Also, I would have liked to use the internet browser. I am not complaining, I am very thankful for ingame xmb and think it is very very useful.

wow didnt expect so much negativity. I expected games to send out patches day one because they have had this software for quite a long time.

I am sorry but I have to say. No one is allowed to complain about the XMB. There is not a single one of you that hasn't comlained at least once about it not being there and now that is out you are not allowed to complain. Too much work went into this and the only reason it even exists is because people complained that it wasn't there. Just because you have it built up in your head so much doesn't give you the right to complain just because it doesn't live up to your lofty expectations.

haha. I have never complained about ingame xmb not being here, I have always been excited. My 'lofty expectations' arent so lofty if you think about the time sony have had to prepare for this update.

Not really. Whats the point of even releasing trophies if i can't use them. They could have saved the trophy update for a later date when developers had been brought up to speed so at least all the major games could have them

Yes you can expect patches before day one.  Look at all those games that got patches for rumble well before the DS3 came out.

yeah but considering different devs will have different priority levels about the trophies for previously released games, its impossible to wait for everyone to be on board, or impractical we'll say...

rather, put it out there with the options for the devs and let them develop patches/trophies for it as they deem necessary

its not "required" of devs to make these so why wait for something that may not be coming for ALL games, but probably most

I am sorry but I have to say. No one is allowed to complain about the XMB

When you pay good money for a console, you can complain about whatever the hell you want.

In-game XMB - it works and it's good.

Trophy support and Custom soundtracks - fail. Why? Because "day one supporters" are not day one supporters, unless SSHD is the representative of all games on those lists, and many key titles are not even on the "up and coming list." Sony should have talked to the devs and had the ball rolling on this before giving us this firmware.

    I just wanted in-game messaging.

I got it, and it works fantastic.

The trophies and in-game soundtracks aren't even near the top of my list for wanted features so I'm overwhelmed. I didn't think I would have liked trophies this much.
