The fact there's a serial killer in Japan right now who was released, and casually mentions in interviews and on TV that he'd like to eat another girl some day, I can't facepalm Japan hard enough, this doesn't surprise me.

On the day 17 year-old Yuriko was murdered at their home, her older sister and Umezaki became incensed after Yuriko didn't practice playing video games—she skipped her practice session, apparently. Other things that made them mad was that she didn't take out the trash. They beat Yuriko with brass knuckles, their fists, and a chair until she died. 

 
These people are ****ed in the head. It amazes me that they felt the need to beat her for not practicing video games. They deserve way more time in prison or maybe even the death penalty.

That was France's fault, as he was going to the University of Paris at the time of the murder and was serving time in a French jail. The first case mentioned in Japan is one of the first trials decided by a jury of their peers, kind of like in the US and before WWII in Japan. The idea was that the result would be more fair, but I guess that wasn't the result.

The fact he's going around stating he'd like to eat another girl someday given his history and no one is willing to take a wise precaution to such desire, the facepalm remains.  Japan has a serial killer, a free man who got off on some B.S claim in their country making public statements like that...

I agree, but what are they supposed to do? He served his time and was released in Paris, they can't arrest him for a crime he hasn't committed yet. As insane as he is and as creepy as it is for him to say such things they really can't touch him until he follows through on it. The same would apply if he came to the US.
