The Walking Dead - Monday, July 02, 2012 8:38 PM
Is anybody else enjoying this series? It's such a simple game engine yet I'm finding it so immersive. Could interactive horror be the way forward? I'm thinking so!

I just finished playing Episode Two: Starved for Help and couldn't turn it off! Man it's been a while since I've leant forward whilst playing like that.

IMO - Heavy Rain meets Zombies.

Thoughts?

Oh yeah? Episode 1 was pretty slow but I really enjoyed it.

I think I might play ep 2 tonight.

Episode 1 was awesome. Played a bit of 2 yesterday but the start left a few unanswered questions. What the hell happened after the lights went out at the end of episode 1? I was expecting some kind of mass zombie attack

There definitely isn't enough interactive games around. I loved being able to choose what my character said and did. I'm eagerly awaiting for Episode 3 and the next season. It reminds me of Heavy Rain meets Highschool of the Dead.

Just finished episode 5. Un ****ing believable!!!! I don't even want to do spoilers but Tell Tale has already announced a Season Two. At first I thought.... new characters? Or, do they go with what they have? Sit through the creds at the end of 5 though, for a little surprise. I just can't believe at how effed up the story got and I was genuinely upset at some points... don't want to go into specifics. Plus I love that you get a platinum for playing it all the way through.

Is there another walking dead the game thread? I searched and didn't find it. Instead of making fun why not just link the Walking Dead the Game thread here and then people can find it.

The Walking dead is also a very nice horror movies and also an interesting game. And its gameplay is adventure with some action and it has also a plot story.

Best game of the year by far.

I'm loving the game, really good settings and characters. Am always baffled with things that happen that are beyond my control. I'm on the third episode atm :D

(Thanks CGoodno!)

Loved it, but for some reason Episode 5 didn't save my previous choices and at the end it said I had done completely different things.

Yeah that happened to me in act 2 going to 3. I think it was cause I was playing offline since my internet was out and some of the save files might have mixed up =S

I have some of Act2 achievements not obtained because of it.

Yeah the game is great, makes you make the tough decisions. It's surprising sometimes seeing what you chose, once you immerse yourself.

But you have to know the type of gameplay youre getting. It isnt a zombie killer but it's a situation simulator.

It's not a shooter, it's a modern point and click adventure. It's very well done, and dialogues are a big part of the game. Think Sam & Max but with a more mature setting.

It also has action movements where you have to react quickly, etc. But again, not a action game. More adventure.

Yes. Yes it is. And there were times when I regretted picking certain decisions even though there was barely a better decision. And there are tons of WTF moments (in a very good way.) I bought it before PS+ got it for free. Worth every penny.

Still worth playing, plus there's a good chance these aren't the last Walking Dead episode games we see.

I hope they do make the rest of it free for PS+ soon. This is one of those experiences i'd love to share, when i played through ep1 everyone (on PS3 via PS+) was like :D KEEP GOING.

Also didnt know WD has a plat for PS3.

I had the game's end spoiled already, didn't change a damn thing. Still one of the best scenes ever, you'll see it coming, but doesn't mean you'll try everything in your power to change it.

Did you watch through the credits? Make sure you do. There is a sweet little tidbit at the end of them. But, yes, we see the ending coming, but I wonder, how can you end the season any other way?

So doing a silent protago doing a silent Lee run. If it's timed, then I never pick a choice. Been interesting so far

Cool, never thought of doing it that way, though there were plenty times where I wanted to pick silent.

It's interesting, they call you a good Samaritan if you dont reply about what you are..

thou it's stupid how the end game results are depicted... i dont pick any choice when it comes to siding w/ Kenny or the chick.. but it takes side anyway. Only char I couldn'tkeep myself from talking to was Clem. Only person I talk/respond to, otherwise i pick '...'  or let the timer run out.

Hey all, Have a question for those who have played both Ep 1 and Ep2, Can I just jump into episode 2 or would it not make any sense unless I play episode 1 first. I know I love the series and I am wanting to get this game. I thought about trying it on the computer first to see if I like it then switch to the 360. I am weary about games that try to base off a series (hense Prison Break) Thanks

It wouldn't make any sense. And all of your decisions from episode 1 influence what goes on in episode 2 (like who lives and who dies.) It is a game meant to be played ep 1-5. And it is certainly worth every penny.

Yup as thor mentioned, It'd be like jumping into a trilogy midway. You'd lose a lot of the experience since your actions won't carry over.
