The only reason I haven't payed for this yet is because I don't have the time right now to fully take advantage of the great discounts and free/rented games it offers. As soon as I get a Vita, I will get it though.

Great actual value for your money.

I got a year and four months free with my white PS3. Not bad I guess. I have downloaded Mega Man 10, Darksiders and KOF13 so far for free. And I make constant use of the automatic save data upload in fear of PS3 death

My subscription ran out recently, but I plan on buying another year soon to take advantage of this offer:

EU has a PS Vita birthday sale going on now. Games are on sale for everyone, but you get an extra 10% off with PS+.

I bought it for 10 bucks 5 months ago.  It sits in my game collection, never to be played.

It's a fairly short game apparently, you might as well give it a shot.

@Skv
EU has the superior IGC for now, but I think NA gets better discounts.

Vanquish is a really solid game to have for free. I don't know if I'll get around to playing it any time soon, nonetheless, it'll be downloaded

EU PS+ gives Zero Escape to PSVita next week on top of this all

PS+ EU shats all over USA, then again, normal price overhere is 50 Euro, which equals about 70 USD. We pay more, we get more.

That 12 months + 3 months free for 50 Euro is a good deal, USA had that same deal for 50 bucks running before EU's.

Just bought Resident Evil 6 , I guess I'm too much of a RE fan to miss out on this horrible game. But who knows, maybe I end up liking it.

Also got RE5:GE, RE2,3 and 4(trophy list for this game is a f***ing joke). Last week I got GTA IV: The Complete Edition since it was on a pretty good sale too.

One Year of PS+ Value In Free Games: $1854.86 - Friday, June 28, 2013 2:50 PM
One Year of PlayStation Plus Value In Free Games: $1854.86

Sony is celebrating one full year of PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection, and posted the image above showcasing all 68 free games offered since Instant Game Collection launched.

That's a lot of games for subscribing to PlayStation Plus for just $49.99 a year. This got me wondering... just how much does that $49.99 get you in value? Now that I had all of the free games offered right before my very eyes, a little bit of lazy Googling and lazier mathematics through an Excel spreadsheet I whipped up gave me the answer I was looking for.  Ready for this? In just one year of PlayStation Plus—all the free games pictured up top—are valued at roughly $1854.86. That number may seem precise, but I admittedly cheated a little. If I had to hunt down the current price of 68 games, it'd have taken all week. So what I decided would give me the most accurate figure I could get was if I went by the price of each game at its release. That means, retail PS3 titles, unless they were launched at a discount price, are $59.99 a piece. Now I know that there is no way you're going to pay $59.99 for inFamous 2 so long after it released, but seriously, are you going to nitpick that much about this estimated value? Especially when you paid less than the full cost of one retail PS3 game for over $1800 in free games? I didn't think so.

I used the same "price on release date" formula for PS Vita, PSP, and PSN-only titles as well. And if you think about it, there's even more value there since some of these games are cross-buy titles that give you access to both a PS3 and PS Vita version of the game. The Walking Dead was a tough one since it released via PlayStation Plus as episodes, so instead I just wrapped it up for its retail price for the disc version released late last year. Can't beleive Sony gave away that much money's worth of games in just one year of PlayStation Plus? And for only $49.99? Go ahead, check my math.

And people say it's not worth it, it's the best gaming deal you can get! Look at this! This is not even including 1 hour game trial, early demos, discounted games or DLC, and game beta access!
Definetly worth paying $50 a year no matter what system, we are getting a tremendous value.

A lot of those games weren't 60$ when they were put on PS+ btw. So value isn't nearly that high. but it's still very high comparatively to the 50$ you pay to rent these for an  year.

edit:
Corrected for 50$ subs, not 60$

That's not the point, it's still a great value. And it shows that if there are some games you wanted to get, but never got it, you get it in PS+ for free. And it aint renting, first of all I never heard renting for a year, it's a subscription that is yours to enjoy.

No need to get defensive. No where in my post did i say it was bad.

All i said it definitely wasn't $1854. And it's not exactly like yer getting the same value since you only own the games as long as you are a subscriber.

It's like leasing a car, you lease a car for an year or two. Then u return it, or extend the lease to use the same car.

I love PS+, I have US and EU versions. But I know what I'm getting and what the service is. I'm not a fan of misinformation.

Vanquish was a $60 game?
... I mean, I liked it, but I was kinda judging it like a PSN title.
I probably wouldn't think of it as favorably if I had bought it for $60.

... and The Walking Dead was $50?
I thought it was more like $30.
... besides, PS+ only gave you the first two episodes, not the full game.

Leasing is exactly what I knew what you were going to say, when you lease you never own it just borrow. The games here are for you to play and own in the service. If you bought all those games new, you would have payed close to 2g.

So you saved alot of money from being patient and getting them for free. You are getting it for that value, because that was it's original cost; you would have paid $60 or whatever the new price value was for the game.

Lol, what? But you don't own the games.... you lease them out w/ PS+..

I don't know why you are preaching to choir, I already said multiple times.. PS+ does have value.

But it's the misinformation that you (and others) are spreading that is hurting PS+ more than it helps. Get the facts straight, no it's not 1800$ value. But it's much more than the 50$ you give. No you do NOT own the games, as long as you have a sub, the games are yours to play.

It's effectively just like Netflix (when it comes to instant game collection , minus the streaming), and therefore you don't get full retail value of a game.. not that most games on PS+ were 60$ at the time they went live.

You can keep deflecting the facts, but it doesn't change them.

You could of gotten game A for $60, but decided not to for some reason. 7-8 Months go by and now you get the game for free in PS+. You have just saved $60 for being patient and getting the game free.

It is not misinformation.

Yea, but PS+ didn't save me $60. It saved me whatever price the game costs at the time it becomes free.

Say if I wait, and a game drops from $60 to $30. Then if it shows up on PS+, I would save myself $30, because that's what the value of the game is at that time.

I would save $30 by being patient, and another $30 by having PS+.
What you are trying to do is include the price drops into PS+'s value by saying it gives a $60 value for a single game, when it doesn't.

You still didn't read what I wrote correctly
"So you saved alot of money from being patient and getting them for free. You are getting it for that value, because that was it's original cost; you would have paid $60 or whatever the new price value was for the game."

You could of gotten game A for $60, but decided not to for some reason. 7-8 Months go by and now you get the game for free in PS+. You have just saved $60 for being patient and getting the game free.

It doesn't work that way. Just because I bought the ps3 when it was 300$, doesn't mean i got a 600$ value because people paid 600$ for it on launch day.

You can't attribute you not getting the game as a benefit to PS+. YOU choose not to buy the game on release day, why does PS+ get ANY credit for YOUR patience?

The price of a game on the DAY PS+ puts it on Instant Collection, is the price value you are getting.

If i buy you liar for 5$, does that mean you got 60$ worth of value from the game?  No, value depreciates over time. It's rule number one in business. And values falls fastest for electronics, your justification doesn't apply.

Sony put up Demons Souls on PS+ when it was 20$. You can't count that as a 60$ game anymore, because it ISNT one.

No, again not reading correctly

So, I could of gotten a game for $60 first week it is out, and then 8 months later it comes out into PS+ for free, I just spent $60, instead of being patient and getting it for free. The game now costs $30 in retail.

YOU STILL COULD HAVE SAVED $60.

The value is accurate on how much we saved.
