Didn't they announce Yakuza 3 months ago? I remember playing a terrible demo off the Japanese PSN store when there was still snow on the ground.

No, it's not 3. it's Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan. Ryu ga Gotoku 3 is real sequel to Yakuza 2(present days of Tokyo).

btw, I know that demo is terrible but retail version is really good. My top3 PS3 game. It's worth to play if you like jrpg.

That's cool. The demo might not have been so bad if I knew any Japanese. I just remember it looked really bad, but that could have changed by the time it hit retail.

LOL I was going to say the same thing "isn't Yakuza 3 already out in Japan?" but after your explanation plus some exploring form my part I found that they are 2 different games :P
 
I think the confusion started as how a lot of sites reported the Kenzan one as simply "yakuza 3" in some sort of poor translation attempt :P
 
hopefully at least they will bring the new one to NA :)

No mention of the release date on the scan but I guess this xmas. b/c previous Yakuza(1 & 2) was released in xmas season and the game itself was set in December.

This is great and all but I speak for a lot of people when I say there should be another Sega classic they should be working on that has III in the title.

They should be...but I start to think SEGA replaced Shenmue with Yakuza...

So Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan won't make it to the States?

I just hope they expand the insult vocabulary and tone down the gratuitous use of f-bombs this time. I mean, I curse like a sailor but in the first Yakuza you'd be walking down the street and a guy would be like "What the f*ck are you f*cking looking at you cocky f*cking **** f*cker!?" then you'd fight the dude, beat him, and he's like "f*ck man I'm f*cking sorry, ****!!" and run off.

They did actually announce Yakuza 3 and not Kenzan 2 months ago. The first image was shown in a previous Famitsu.

You should pick up Yakuza 2 if you like Shenmue, it's basically a spiritual successor. The best part is, it's only $29.

There aren't Yakuza fan much here... Yakuza 2 isn't available in NA/EU yet?
