WOW on PS3? - Sunday, November 09, 2008 2:30 AM
I was at a product roadshow a few days ago in the UK,  at this roadshow show Sony was there showing off what we can expect from the PS3 in the coming few months. All the usual suspects were there LBP, Killzone2, M2 etc, anyway myself and a couple of other people got talking to one of the Sony guys there. He said Sony and Activision are working on a PS3 version of WOW, infact a version that you will able to link to an exsisting account on your PC. He also went on to say that no one at Sony expects to see the best from the PS3 for around another 2 or 3 years.

WoW can run on even the crappiest of computers. This will not happen and would be useless anyway. WoW is an MMO meant for PCs (like most Blizzard titles, at that).

Wouldn't be a succes. People who's got a PS3 also has a PC/Mac in their home and if they like WoW, they're already playing it.

Edited, should be simpler to catch my drift.

If not... Blizzard is the now the same company as Activision.

But this would make no sense. More sense than it coming on the 360, becuase you are already paying, for that, so they can't make any profit, but why wouldn't Sony Online Entertainment do Everquest 2 port instead? Surely Sony would want their wares pimped, rather than Actiblizz.

Would be 3rd party you tard.

But that would be the reason that it won't make sense on LIVE, becuase no one wants to pay for their ISP, their LIVE and their MMO subscription.

Thats not paying Sony, that's paying Konami or whoever else, man some ppl like pickin fights...prolly another little girl

It would make perfect sense, PSN is the perfect place for MMOs

Seems grammar doesn't really matter to you though does it? Spelling neither?

Argue those points, you have to be perfect. So arguing grammar and spelling is never ideal.

1. Blizzard would never allow another team to touch their games, esp WoW
2. Blizzard has said they will not release a console version for like a hundred different reason.
  • Creating an entirely new control scheme and UI
  • Having to learn how to program for the PS3 and then create ANOTHER team to create PS3 versions of the patch
  • They have 12 million + people
This is a massive lie made by the OP, no one in a real business would just throw out to a random dude something that big.

agreed....  it's not like Blizzard NEED to make console versions... saying that their PC fanbase is sufficient is an understatement

besides.. with NCsoft and SOE making multiple MMO's for the PS3, WoW would certainly over-saturate the genre on the console

I'd much rather see games like The Agency take off on the system rather than get eclipsed by "OMGWoWONTEHPS3!!!!!"

While the PC has a very strong market, I think porting this successful MMO to PS3 would be a very wise manuever.  It will definitely give the PS3 a broad range of buyers who would have never thought to purchase the console and introduce them to really good premiere gaming.

If WOW came to the PS3, I'd consider buying it.

WOW on the PS3 would be a pretty good idea. I mean 11 million people play it. I could actually see this happening. Their has been many rumors that WOW was coming to the consoles.
