I think Maddens is a FarCry2 fanboy now. Glad to see they will fix time attack, i have some top 10 times, even with the cheating. I wish they fix a little the random nature of the respawns, i hate to crush people with my Monster Truck just to see them respawning near me with full boost

It's not that the respawns are random. Think about it; when YOU get crushed by a monster truck, you inevitably respawn behind them. It's just lag that causes you to THINK you've crushed them, but as far as they're concerned, they dodged your attack.

I've not noticed this problem when it wasn't laggy, anyway.

I heard cheats work only offline mode in specific tracks.
I think the respwan thing is just a lag and they are not crashing actually. If the players seem to get a collision with someone or something in your sight and respwan immediately, they are recaluculated their locations.

The only existing "cheat" is a boost glitch that allows infinite boosting, but only in single player, i think it works like this:

Boost till the car start bleeping, pause before it explodes, boost, pause before it explodes, rinse and repeat. You can't do it online, it will be fixed soon and its lame and boring

cool, what does the update do?

MotorStorm Pacific Rift was one of the many casualties of the great game overload of the holiday season last year. Lost amidst a sea of other high-profile titles, Evolution Studios' sequel to the PS3's first great racing game had the limelight stolen from it by other titles like Resistance 2 and LittleBigPlanet. Now might be a good time go give the game a go, though, as Sony has announced that the game's first big post-release patch is on the way.
In addition to removing some of the saved data restrictions that prevented users from backing up save files, the game's update focuses on patching up some exploits, polishing the game's ranking system, and tightening up the gameplay. Evolution Studios has listened intently to the community and implemented a number of the fixes suggested by the fans. The abridged patch notes can be found over at the official PlayStation blog.
The original MotorStorm was one of the best early titles the PS3 had to offer, and Pacific Rift fixed some of the original game's flaws. The developers have been working hard to match Criterion in its DLC efforts with Burnout Paradise, so weekly updates and free DLC are always on the horizon with Pacific Rift as well. This is how developers should be supporting their games post-launch.

Details of the first update:
  • Restrictions to the copying of Saved Data have been removed. This will make it possible for Saved Data to be backed up and then restored to the User Account it was created under (whether that’s on the same PLAYSTATION 3 or not).*
  • Changes to the way the game handles data. These changes will help to prevent Saved Data corruption.
  • Visual notification of critical save progress has been added. A ‘MotorStorm Helmet’ icon will be displayed on-screen to warn users that critical data is being saved. This is in addition to the HDD Access light which currently flashes while the game makes a critical save.
  • The glitch which enables a player to exploit the Boost system has been removed. The development team are working to identify which times have been achieved using this glitch; Action will be taken to ensure that the Leaderboards become genuinely competitive again.
  • Time Attack times and Rank information will update correctly for all players. Any pending Time Attack times will begin to filter through systematically and the online Ranks should display correctly once the update is released.
  • Additional fixes and improvements to gameplay. Many thanks for your feedback on these and other issues so far; we are still investigating the other issues that have been brought to our attention.
Should you notice anything about the game that you feel needs to be brought to our attention, please let us know via the VIP.MotorStorm.com forums.

Changes to the way the game handles data. These changes will help to prevent Saved Data corruption.  <------------ this by far is my number one gripe and why I refused to keep playing after it happened 2 times and I had to go get ALL of my vehicles and skins back...after the second time, I put it down.....but it looks like happy days will be here again.......

I knew it would come...hell, EVO really listened to gamers after the release of Motorstorm 1 and brought a bevy of improvements and DLC....it just took a little while.........i know this game will continue to shine in it's historic place even *brighter after this.......

EVO - is the Incognito of OFF-ROAD racing on the PS3.

Just saw a Motorstorm 2 advert. It was on Living during the break of 'Nothing To Declare.' It was ok.
