This thread is for all those glorious AppStore releases, expected, current and of yore (where yore=the past 12 months or so?).

If I'm being honest, though, this thread is really so a certain handheld aficionado and I can put a stop to lengthy PM chains over what app we gotta have this week and how badly one of us is being owned by the other in a given game.

There are only a few things on the appstore i think are worth paying for, even the top games are mostly crap

Ragdoll Blaster is another newer one that's awesome!  You have a cannon that shoots ragdolls, a target you need to hit with said ragdolls, and obstacles and springs, propellers, platforms, anything really in the way of that target.  Some are easy while some just make you go hmmm.  Like this Candy Machine level  still haven't past it

lol I don't know Eliss is unforgiving!  I do like on my Z&M scoreboard that I've played 6 hours with the longest play session 1 hour my average game legnth is still only 9 mins

i just started looking at the app store this week even though i bought my touch back in november. there are a lot of cool games and stuff on it... and i been playing Resident Evil 4 like nonstop, it is amazing how they could put it on the ipod.

Touch KO boxing game for the iPhone.  To get to the top of the chain you need to get to 100 popularity 3 seperate times for the different belts to win for a total of around 35 bouts depending on your fights you pick.  The difficulty is not the hardest with later levels just make it harder by the opponent learning how to block more   also you lose your stanima faster with each punch later down.  Most matches last 2 out of the 3 mins of the first round.

Other than that it's a pretty solid boxing game for the iDevices.  Even has achievements   which thru those 35 matches I got 8 of them.  Can't seem to figure out how to get "Tricked Out" and "Clobberin' Time"     One of them "Fistful of Steel" was odd as you get it for KOing someone in the first round and all my matches I TKO'ed everyone... including the TKO that net me the KO achievement

Try it out!  The game does have it's moments 

So I only have 3 games in but so far I've been always improving.  Last game I got 2474 in MiniGore

Aww yeah.

The App that ate up a chunk of my life over the past year would be Blocked. I was stuck on 64 FOREVER. Jebus.
Now, that's the only level I'll play. I've beaten it, of course.
Heck, I beat the game in 3 subway rides =D

Pretty hectic and fun to play.  Touch to move and then hold on phasers or torpeadoes and touch the location you want to fire.  Don't forget to have a little lead on those shots as the enemies like to move 

You have a whole area to explore and even jump into warp drive.  A lot is going on in the galaxy and it doesn't seem like there is a set path for you to go in.  I've jumped around and fought many of ships but I think I've lost a few outposts without knowing how to get to that particular outpost.

You have access to engineering and weapon systems so you can divert power and fix up things.  You can have those systems take damage to not be able to work anymore and you lose crew members but a dock at a station will repair and gain new crew members.  Games pretty slick.

Yeah, in later matches it just seems to be a different in that you have to be patient (in early matches could just punch til they dropped).

Yup tricked out is still the only one I didn't get.  Clobbering Time was for 5 KO's.. which I still got TKO's but whatever.  It seems sometimes when you get the 3rd knockdown they'll do a countdown and if he falls it'll count as a KO rather than figuring out it was the 3rd ko in the round.  Although I did get a true KO once... it was after a great thrashing.  I like how when you start getting a lot of combos the screen shakes while you are pounding em up.

Tricked Out I think is buying up everything in the store.  I only have 10 more trucks to get... only problem is those 10 are 30k apiece   I'm pretty much fighting the guys who will give me the cash bonus.  

On the plus side I have 68 Knockouts and I'm sitting pretty at rank 106.  The Challenge a Friend button I was all stoked about till I hit it to find out it's just an e-mail you send to people telling them your score...

From the dev who brought us Touch KO he details update #1 and even gives us something to look forward to even after that

Our first update should be ready to submit very soon and will feature:
1. Ability to tap timer to pause
2. Ability to tap to skip replay
3. Corrected positional audio problems for users wearing headphones
4. Adding hard mode with a steeper difficulty ramp
5. *Might fix the problem for users who experience a crash or freeze when they get knocked out. We are still not 100% sure what causes this problem, and we have not been able to reproduce it ourselves, but we adjusted some code we suspect could be the problem. If you are one of the few who has experienced this, please let us know if it still happens after the update!

I have already started work on a quadrant-based control scheme for body punches, but this will take some further work, so will have to wait for the second update.

While okay I just heard word that the awesome Pac-Man Championship Edition is going to make its way to the iPhone!

It's criminal only Xbox 360 owners have been able to experience Pac-Man Championship Edition, easily one of the best retro reinventions so far. It's fantastic looking and playing sequel. Microsoft tied up the console rights to the techno-infused reimainging, but Namco Bandai will be releasing an iPhone version of Pac-Man Championship Edition later this year, the publisher has told me.
I have no screen shots, details on extra features or even a release date less vague than before the end of 2009, but I can tell you Pac-Man Championship Edition is coming to the iPhone and that should be news enough to salivate over, if you've played it before.
Nailing the controls for Pac-Man will likely prove tricky. Once I know more, I'll pass it on.

Seems the iPhone is allowing exclusive rights to be underminded.  Gameloft has the Football game coming out that has actual nfl players in them just like Madden will have

Madden...that some kind of sports game?  I had a hard enough time previewing that wrestlemania legends game and not choking on my own vomit!  Though I suppose football is closer to a "real" sport. ;)
