I said GTA, I said FF......same goes for every game even Metal gear solid.....they are just Tweaks from the previous installment.
Metal gear ALSO uses " sneaking " as their basic in every Metalgear game( except for that other one...on the PSP where it was turn based? i cant really remember.....mario tennnis....neh nvm xD)

While i'm not too fond of the Wii due it's target on the casual market, I'm getting tired of the hate towards the Wii and my personal favorite: "the Wii is a fad". People need to stop with this nonsense. It's a family oriented system and i'll admit I had alot of fun playing it. I wouldn't buy it but that doesn't make it any less fun. I don't have a problem with the Wii as long as it doesn't shift the console market to the casual gamer.

And if it does it would mean the other market " you, me, all the others claiming they are HARDCOREEEEEEE" will be open......in other words there will be a market willing to spend money on games you people call " HARDCORE" games. And thats where Game developers will go..... go where money is.
So there is never going to be " a casual gaming market" only.

let me put it this way, If there is a market there will be money...and money is important to any company.

I mean more in the design of games. I fear that strickly fun will overtake the importance of a deep story or deep gameplay that you actually have to put some time in to master or fully appreciate.

In the world of gaming there has always been a mass amount of games that could be deemed 'casual' Just because the Wii has titles that are deemed casual and the Wii is selling very well it will not stop the fact that the gaming industry has always had many many casual titles well before the Wii was popular.

The gaming industry has story driven titles and games for the masses. This has been the way since Atari heck even the PC with it's green screen had either heavy story line games with multiple things to do in it and then also little small games. Look at the 64k computer how many casual titles where on that bad boy.

Wii will not bring the revolution of casual titles and destroy the hardcore games. The casual games have been in control since home console gaming started. So have no fear.

The Wii also will start getting it's own hardcore and plot heavy titles soon enough. What with all these developers have gotten the quick cash in on the Wii they can start making games that take a bit longer to make and we'll get the FFCC, Fatal Frame, Monster Hunter, Disaster Day of Crisis games and many more.

Is it just me or has anyone else figured it out yet?
Nintendo does not care about what Sony and Microsoft are doing. They have no concern, absolutely none, about the "next gen" console race.
For Nintendo it's simply about doing it their way for their fans. They know what they are doing and they are going to do it better than anyone else.

IMHO the Wii is expensive for a last gen gaming system that can't play high def games, sound, DVD's and even CD's. Not worth $300 for basically a GC with a motion sensing controller. Most of the games on the system score poorly and while 360 and PS3 owners are playing GTA in a few days, Wii owners will be playing baseball or boxing with characters with big heads. Honestly if you don't have small kids, I can't see why anyone would buy a Wii.

1. It's the best game in 10 years.
2. It has a perfect metacritic, beating Ocarina of Time which has 99.
3. Nothing more needs to be said.

Although I don't think GTA's greatness has anything to do with not getting a Wii.

What matters is the overall reception of the game, which is killing everything that is out or has been out for...10 years.

maybe im one of those who dont like it, the minority, but how is it killing everything out there?

ha my thread got a bump

For me GTA is a bigger casual game than Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. I can only play that game for 5 mins before I have to put something else in. Very little depth to it and just a big copy of Sims with all the work pretty much done for you so all you have to do is walk outside oh and they give you a gun whipe. Rather boring in my eyes.

As for is not being worth 300 dollars you are right it's worth 250 with game

Along with it seems we only use reviews when it helps our purpose. Reviews don't matter when they give your game a 7 but if they score is a 9.5 well then it's gospel.

And yes Nintendo is just walking its own path while PS3 and 360 are fighting it out. They know first hand how futile it is to fight a console war. Even if you lose you still make money which they have been doing for the last 10 years so in their mind what Sony and MS are doing is very silly in their eye. It makes no one richer and just shows how arrogant one company can be towards another and does nothing for your placement in the sales.
