Status: offline 		I used to own both... but my 360 crapped out on me, for the third time, and the lovely lady at MSFT customer service refused to believe that it could break that many times (she sounded a bit slow) and now I only own a PS3.

I was a little saddened at first, but I've come to realise now, that the PS3 is actually better, in just about every department (besides Live, but I had to pay for that, so that's even) for my specific needs, of course.

I also realised, that you can vastly prefer one console over the other, and not be a fanboy about it

Yeah, that's true here. I prefer the Xbox's games, but I hate the company that makes the system.

Same here. I can understand why people would be pro-360, it's a fantastic console (albeit unsatisfactory build quality) but to be pro-Microsoft, you have to be outright ignorant to their underhanded business practices, "if you can't beat 'em, buy em" attitude, and monopolistic nature of the company, which damages the industries they involve themselves in (look at Vista).

Not only that, but for a company as big and successful as Microsoft, they're damn well incompetent.

But I digress. I love both consoles, one a little more than the other, but arguing and fighting over something so trivial is silly, and sad.
I don't really think of the Wii as a games console in the same way as the 360 and PS3, but it's okay. I'd go mad if it was my only console, though.

if it werent for them though, MS wouldnt have all the good games coming out that they do.

Same goes for Sony. Without MS taking the idea of online gaming from the Dreamcast and running away with it, Sony probably wouldn't have bothered with PSN, and tacked on an online feature, like with the PS2.

Competition just means big companies push each other to deliver the best they can, and ultimately we, as consumers, are the winners.
