QFT, besides:

The highlighted area shows it's not CG, yes I have an eagle eye about these things. If it weren't realtime, Insomniac would have turned up the iterations on the spotlight to make it smoother considering it wouldn't matter what resolution it was as everything is prerendered. Also the rope is pretty low res. I'm not trying to knock the game's A-FREAKING-STOUNDING graphics, I'm just showing the naysayers that it IS realtime, aside from the fact that like Pirate just said Insomniac doesn't use CG.

To be fair, the Gears 2 teaser showed what will probably be the most recognized form of death of 2008. It also wasn't advertised.

But that reminds me I really hope we see some Gears 2 gameplay soon. I mean only months away from release and no gameplay? I still think it will be delayed.

Well maybe it does

. Understand you are basically judging a TEASER trailer. However i have to say from what insomniac showed, it seems quite epic and at least it was an in game trailer. Not trying to knock on gears, i consider gears to be one of the greatest games of this generation if not the greatest. However in my eyes R2 teaser was more epic than Gears teaser.

Gears teaser may not have been advertised but it was certainly hyped. Cliffy B even put on a little show before they showed it. R2 trailer debuting on gametrailers tv simply doesn't compare. I wish both games the best of luck but with my inner fanboy standing out you have to know i am rooting for resistance. Though the odds are against em i think they can pull it off.

I used to think it would be delayed too but looks like they have started showing gameplay to the media. I am sure they will have something concrete to show by E3. If they have nothing by then, its safe to start worrying. I expect R2 to be playable by E3 if its not playable by then i will expect delays as well. Msoft holiday season is riding heavily on gears 2 so i am sure everything will be done to keep a delay from happening

Well to each his own but realistically speaking i don't think any game had as much impact as Gears had this gen at least not in my eye. Gears effectively defined what a next gen game should be.

Anyway the thread is getting off topic. Anyone notice the part where he says he has 19hrs to live. Do you think that will be the total length of the game? Maybe the coop mode plus sp mode will run for 19hrs. The Sony PR guy said R2 could use 50GB blu ray. I would say 19hrs of gameplay could probably fill up 50GB

I think I would've seen more action if they would've made a slideshow of all the released pics so far rather than the teaser trailer that was just released. I saw it on Spike a while back and I was like WTF, I know that this is just a teaser but I at least expected something more.

Ah well, I'm not THAT interested in this game anyways.

it was prob done in engine, that way they can do stuff that you just can't do in the actually game, without ever having to say its CGI.

I'd say compared to the gears trailer, they both sucked, one was a quick duel, the other was a landscape shot.

Halo 3 to me still as the best teaser, Cortana's fucked up voice, and the destuction with the climax was what a teaser should be.

pre-rendered engine footage. This looks better than every game if it looks like this including crysis.

The only thing I have to say is that, the Teaser accomplished it's goal.

It set a tone, a mood and an atmosphere along with a target render so we know what to expect. No more and no less.

The tone: Dreary, discouraged, mankind (and hero) seemingly drawing final breaths.
Mood: Daunted, shocked, scared, sad, anger.
Atmosphere: War-like, violent, Overwhelming

Target render: Amazing.

Well i didn't see the halo 3 teaser so i can't really compare. I thought the gears teaser was week. It wasn't even in game but it sure did get people excited which is what a teaser is supposed to do. R2 trailer however was in game and i think it accomplished its goal. Time will tell if what they showed can be done however realistically i think it can. From the screenshots in the game informer magazine you can tell they have made some serious improvements since R1

I don't care if you were knocking on Gears of War or not. The point is, I found that trailer boring and generic. Next time, I want to see gameplay footage.

CGI or not... they really did capture the mood really well... I think I am more excited for this game than I did the first...

It will be nice to see some KZ next... anyone know they are releasing a trailer...
