Status: offline 		Your story failed automatically since it got a certain number of spam reports. I agree that the story should have been approved instead of  being reported as spam. Unfortunately it is too late now do anything about it since the other story already have been approved. As RuJoshin says, these things are bound to happen sometimes on a social news site. I will ask our tech guy to increase the number of spam reports needed to fail a story since we now have more active contributors.

No offense, but what kind of stupid response is that?

Did you not notice the users who reported MY story then turned around saw the same story being published by someone else and then approved it? I'll give you a HINT. Look up the user "Bloodmask". Also, increasing the number of reports before a story should fail is ridiculous. What if some corrupt (and trust me, there ARE a lot on this site) user has a rubbish story and that gets approved despite the numerous reports?

The users who failed my story should be given a warning or whatnot. Not to mention, as RUJoshin stated, I should be rewarded extra points (meaning a whole bunch, mind you).

Man, are you guys ever amazing.

Status: offline 		We everynow and than have to adjust the algorithm on the site, simply because as we grow it needs to be adjusted. Feel free to think this is stupid, but that is how it works.

As for why some members first reported your story and decided to then approve the other one I do not know. And they can not see who submit each story. I would guess that some of them first thought the pics was not real and thought it should be reported, but then another story got submitted with a longer description and they decided to approve that one instead.

I am not sure what kind of response you are looking for, as I said these things do happen sometimes, and there is not always a good reason behind it. I was unable to give you the points, but I did give a raise in your Crank instead.

Last time I checked approvals and reports don't count as submission score so if he does that it's not for the cash.

You are missing something. :) This was posted first (see the story id or the approval times) and rightfully got approved. The other one is the duplicate.

There will always be a few issues that will need to be fixed or dealt with by mods or admins.
