@I Love New York: You must sign in to play Metal Gear Online. There is no local play option.

darkiewonder asked: Any of the Konami folks will be playing in the BETA as well?
@darkiewonder: We sure will!!! We may try to arrange some matches with you all or something like that… Stay tuned!

Sheen asked: Upon downloading the Beta on the 17th, what can the player do? Would I be able to tool around the character creation settings and all that before I play? I’d like to do that beforehand.
@Sheen: Thanks! You can set up a Konami ID/Game ID through the MGO client/PS3, or can do so right now at
http://id.konami.net, otherwise character creation and of course gameplay will not be available until the 21st.

Alright...Worst case scenario we work with a lobby system even if we don't have friend invites. Can you confirm a lobby system or friend invites

fuck sony, konami and PSN

i only ever have trouble with this garbage online service they've been running us around for the past week with all this BS just because they are too cheap to invest in decent infrastructure I am absolutely appalled right now i've been waiting all day to play MGO now I have to wait because of their incredible incompetence

Capcom was right all along, they stated a while back that the PS3 cant do betas. Unless you're first party. Bullshit like this is the reason why Home is delayed and all other of Sony's issues even exist. I'm really starting to lose my faith in what Sony claims they have in store for PS3. If this was on Xbox Live, I'm almost certain this would be working nearly flawlessly. Why do you think Home hasnt been released yet? Because of Sony's piss poor online and Konami is an example and a victim.

I had words, and I was gonna mouth off angrily.

But I don't.

Instead of swearing or going off a long rant about what sucks.

I'll just say this to convey exactly what I feel.

They let me down and I'm disappointed. There. Because of them, people are not happy in the world.

People don't need videogames to be happy, it's not a necessity, but it still represents a form of escape in the form of entertaining suspension of belief.

Am I the only one totally not surprised by this epic failure? After 2 days of trying to get a fracking ID from their pathetic website, I lost all hope for this beta.

You know, people should really stop getting so uppity about the beta... IT"S A BETA. Something for free. This is probably the biggest cock-up we've had to see, but it's also been the most sucessful field test for Metal Gear Online.

Had they never seen the demand for a beta, then they wouldn't have known what problems they would be having when the full game was released. Yeah it sucks, but they're extending the time at least.

This has probably resulted in more good than bad in the end.

no douche, im not surprised.... id rather have this fail than MGO.... ist still a huge disappointment but im sure everyone will have forgotten about it when the game launches and all is welll..... myself included cuz i am pissed but i will get over it.... 8 days til GTA4 baby!!!

I can understand why home got delayed, because its not finished yet. Yet I fail to see why Konami didn't get Sony to put the their servers up for the game. This better had been a valuable lesson for them.

Wait, wait a second. Konami isn't exactly an online type of company, its not like we're talking about IWD here. This MGO dealio is prolly their first go at an online shooter and I'm pretty sure this wildy popular beta is beyond their expectations.

Plus they're Japanese, they have zero experience in launching something as complex as a world wide beta for a AAA game. If this happened to KZ2 or Resistance 2, then yeah I would be pissed because I expect better from those devs.

There has been more than two MGO's btw MGS4's MGO being the third one...
