ORIGINAL: Chacron if you think that Halo3/COD4 aren't tactical - you're evidently playing on easy/normal. No it's not. There's an element of just running and gunning and waiting for your mystical health to recharge. Stalker is a far more tactical game than COD4 / Halo. Bullets bounce of the ground, you can shoot through objects. The AI is a hard mistress to out smart at times. You bleed and have to use medkits / bandages. No infinate running. You have the ability to upgrade guns with scopes, silencers. Sneaking is important. You should look beyond the box for what tactical shooters should be like. quote:
ORIGINAL: BrotherNick More like bioshock, with it's focus on morality...I like thought provoking games. Bioshock was good, but I take a bit of an issue with it's disregard for mortality. You can never truly die in that game since there's are regen booths everywhere you go. It does have props for it's story, but there was probably more that could be done to the game in the end. Games like Stalker and Deus Ex everyonce in a while really help to change up the FPS genre. It would be in some ways wrong to expect games like those every year, but I'm glad they come out and age well.
