I'd only use Custom Firmware for NES,Genesis,SNES games really. So if it's even possible on the PSP slim tell me.

I know it's possible on the PSP slim, and from what I've read it seems to be easier. I own the older PSP, and I just flat out don't get what I have to do.

I think it's because I'm at the latest firmware update. Maybe I have to wait for the next update, then update through custom firmware.

If you are on the latest official firmware, you first need to DOWNGRADE to an older firmware, and THEN install the custom firmware. I believe you need pandora's battery to downgrade from the latest official firmware.

Two good sites I've come across for PSP hacking are
http://pspupdates.qj.net/ and http://www.pspiso.com/

and Sorry, 3.90 is not downgradeable,you cannot set up Pandora on official firmware.
Use a friend's custom firmware PSP to help you downgrade.
