VII to IX are my favorites. if i had to pick one it would be VII though with VIII & IX just slightly being beaten by it.

X was very good and XII as well, but only lacked a good storyline and good characters.

VI was my personal favorite. the cast of characters is unbeatable.
X is my #2. I'll never forget buying it on release day and playing it for 7 hours that evening. the ending is epic.
VII is my #3. i played this one on pc, so when i was in middle school, i'd stay up until 2 or 3 playing it every night.
IX is my #4. i just love the characters in this one too. Vivi and Garnet were great.

Final Fantasy IX is the MOST underrated Final Fantasy game out there.

That's no horror FFXI was/is the shizz. One of the top games Square Enix has made really and they focused on every element and made one heck of a game.

Final Fantasy X
Final Fantasy X-2
Final Fantasy XI and the expansion packs
Final Fantasy XII and Final Fantasy XII Zodiac Version.
