Status: offline 		why couldn't it. The Wii is sold out in the US and as such if Nintendo can supply 400k consoles why can't it sell that many.

If 400,000 bought the wii that week, i would have to assume that majority of them were buying mario kart. That would leave only 800,000 out of the 10million wii owners to buy mario kart. Even with the increased stock. Bottom line is Nintendo manufactures 1.2 million a month they just depleted half their supply in one week? For a game to sell 400,000 in a week i just feel i should have noticed something

They probably ended up dumping a lot of systems into the market. Sales were lagging for a bit no? As well, a lot of people ended up getting their welfare cheques in America, so that could be another factor.

And actually it's a third of their stock, plus 5 million people in the U.S. got $600-1200 last week. I don't find this surprising at all.

The wii has sold over 600 in six consecutive weeks before this (in the fall). So now a game comes out that's first party, simple and perfect for casuals. Maybe the numbers are accurate and maybe not, but it's certainly not even improbable. Brawl jumped the numbers up quite a bit, but let's face it... Brawl doesn't appeal to casuals much at all.

Status: online 		600,000 in one week leaves 120,000 per week for the rest of the month. Wii productivity is limited to 1.2 million consoles a month. I just feel if the wii sold 400,000 in one week, i would have noticed it. As always, i'll be waiting for NPD

Status: offline 		There is no way the site taps into sales figures. It's a guesstimate at best. There was another site that was run by some kid. It was popular until it was exposed.
