So you are saying Okami is a BAD game?
( also when did Clover promote their games anyway?and now its platinum games>SEGA)

Even those who hate the Wii think its actually a cool looking game.

So WHY would it fail?

methinks someone needs to realize not all good games sell well. EVEN if you simply just didn't like okami...but thats not the case.

Well, actually some of the most artistic games usually bomb and don't sell and there are a lot of best selling crappy games.
Heck, best game of 2007 (BioShock) didn't sell much compared to likes of Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3 and Madden.

A bit off topic but regarding the game sales, there are 4 groups of people that I want to punch in the face:

1. Those that didn't buy Psychonauts (THE best level design of all time IMO) and made it bomb even though it won all kinds of awards)

2. Those that didn't buy Indigo Prophecy / Farenheit.

3. Those that didn't buy Shadow of the Colossus (THE definition of next-gen and ages ahead of it's time)

4. Those Wii owners that didn't buy Zack & Wiki and NMH.

5. Those that didn't buy Okami (on PS2 or Wii).

+ Anyone that keeps buying the Maddens, The Sims expansions, NFS games, Kane & Lynch (Though I'm guilty of this one), Wii Fit and finally, Carnival Games).

It seems snoop dizzle and sidar don't know me at all if I complain about graphics why the HEII would I buy a wii? I'am talking about the art direction stop trying to put me in a space I'am not. Never got into the graphics thing of a PS360 and I've played those games. You come quick to Nintendo's defense you don't see my point that is called FANBOYISM stop being the Nintendo defender when I'am not trying to bash I'am giving an opinoin.

Uh but the art direction is strong, and stylish as hell. They set out to create the look of a graphic novel and they achieved it, and guess what? A lot of graphic novels are black and white. With that mentality do you like Sin City?

Just because a game doesn't sell well doesn't mean a game isn't good. Just as there are overrated games as you said there are UNDERRATED games. This is just a prime example of how this thread is pretty much flawed.

Now sure you didnt liek the art style...but it seems you failed to realize that it was an art style

AND automatically assumed the game would suck when the gameplay could actually be quite addicting! I never heard you once say anything about gameplay(btw thats a pretty important aspect lol)

If you are going to make a thread like this...put a little more thought into it. Becasue this thread frankly=fail

You couldve been like "hey im not totally into the art direction of this game. I think that they should use color because...such and such a reason. And then actually talk about if you liek the gameplay, or say you wonder what it will be like"

No punches for my friends at N4G

As for art direction debate, it all comes down to personal tastes and preferances. Cel-Shading for example. I for one love it and was really happy to see it being used in new Prince of Persia. In the other hand, many people are unhappy and want the old look back.

Plus, Sin City art style rules, fact
