I just finished the game. Absolutely nonstop action. There is a nice surprise after you complete the game (I don't want to spoil it for the two other people in the world that bought the game)

I just know this game is getting a low score. I don't think it has online (no online = bad score from me... and hopefully everyone else)

don't waste your money on this one. the game is about as linear as they come. for certain people talking trash on this board about replay value they don't understand how broken this game is.

fighting, well they couldn't get that right either. it's button mashing. bourne is too stupid to pick up a tonfa when he keeps getting his ass beat by them. he'll finally snatch the nightclub away from a guy, knock him down, turn to face the guy's buddy that also has a nightclub and what does bourne do? throws his down.

or when you start meeting more advanced fighters like the paris assassin you meet first. all boss battles are the same thing, they just get harder. you beat the gut down to the point you do 2-3 takedowns. at that point he pulls out a knife.

and here is a cardinal rule the devs clearly forgot. never let the ai do something the player can't. as a player you can throw two different kinds of punches and two different kinds of kicks. except you truly cannot do punch/kick combos like the ai. the ai can throw a punch and immediately kick. they can kick punch punch kick. they can kick kick kick punch. you can't. you can throw a punch. you can throw punch punch. you can throw a punch punch punch. you can, well you get the picture. the dumb control solution these devs created screws the player.

to kick you have to hold down either the square or triangle until the kick executes. and you can't punch during that time. so throw a punch and then wait 3 seconds or more to kick. which usually won't happen because the ai steps in and hits you and there goes the kick. bourne can't really move fast at all once you enter the fight mode either. he can shuffle very very slowly.

but i digress, back to the knife. your strategy then is't really punching when they pull the knife. then you just go into block mode and wait for an opening that occurs when you get a QTE - timed button sequence. in those moments it is always triangle preceeded by the sound of a cymbal. go ahead and try to kick when they have the knife. you may get one in right after a QTE. it is a very broken fight system and anyone willing to accept it doesn't know quality.

tad opinionated....I "wasted my money" as you would say and picked it up. I liked it alot. Was it the best game I ever played? No. But I ok with not trumping every game I play with an even better one. I enjoyed the action and thought It was fun as I'm sure many other will as well. So contrary to your post I would suggest to someone to pick it up if you want a fun experience with lots of action to pass away the weekend. Its worth a chance to play so if you got the money, buy it, if not rent it. Above all the best advice would be to play the demo, which I thought captured the feel of the game, but expect alot more action through out.

I honestly think you complain way too much. Do you even know how to enjoy a game? I know, it's your money, and you should expect quality, but if you're playing a game, and actively thinking "ooh, that's not realistic enough" etc., then how on earth can you possibly enjoy yourself in any game?

When I play a game, and after a car takes a certain amount of bullets, it caches fire and explodes. Do I then criticise how unrealistic it is? No, because it looks damn cool, and adds to the intensity. Enjoy it, for what it is, not what you think it's trying to be.

Plus, deliberately pushing your opinion on to other people to sway their opinion or decision on whether or not to buy this game, is wrong. In my opinion, it is well worth the £3 to rent for a few nights (yes, I rented it, and I liked it).

From your posts here, I'm not sure if you are a Marine or a game developer or both but you pick every game apart. You already said you are trading this game in for The Hulk. I can't wait to hear you rip that game apart for lack of realism.

You are mistaken in several of your points here. The game is not a button masher in that you need to mix up your combos to win fights i.e.skill. The last time I checked my controller there were buttons, triggers and two joysticks, in that sense using a game controller would make every game a button masher by your definition.

I am that certain person "talking trash" about the replay value about this game. The reason there is replay value in this game is that there are different skill levels that can be switched at any level if you choose to make the game harder or easier. Too many games just have one skill level. This game does not. Also you unlock two weapon variations after beating the game on easy. You can use these modified weapons the next time you play. There are a lot of games that when you replay them, you don't keep anything.

As far as the QTE goes. They are very well done. The transition is smooth. They are used a lot for takedown and weapon takedowns. The better you fight the faster you build up your takedown meter. Also earlier you trashed the Bourne Instinct feature saying it has no value. It actually points your character in the right direction aiming towards the closest enemy. Hidden or not. At least if you are going to give your opinion on something, don't overlook the facts in doing so.

If you think this game breaks "cardinal rules" I'm sure The Hulk will break more. I will interested to hear if The Hulk punches in the center mass area twice and if there is failure this is followed by another two punches to the center mass area followed by a head shot. Also I'm sure that a game like The Hulk won't be a button masher like you say this game is.

QFT

not all games need to be "realistic" if that were the case a couple bullets would kill you and once you die it's totally game over.
i do agree about not having the ability to do combos with punch and kick though.

after playing the demo it's a rent for me. but it should be a good rent.

True. If shooting games had realism one bullet would wound you to the point that you would eventually bleed out and die or the bullet would kill you instantly. There would be no replaying the game because you would be dead. If driving games had realism, you would get into a crash and either die or become seriously injured and your car wrecked. There would be no replaying that game either. Same goes for fighting games. You would need to train as a pilot for flying games too.

Realism to a point is a good thing but games have to blend a certain degree of realism with fun. They are called video games not video simulators for a reason.

and i honestly think you are willing to swallow a piece of sewage. the game has bad issues that make it far from being a buy, it isn't even a rental but you want to overlook those things and pretend they don't exist. i won't. if these were matters of the dev team being unable to bridge a particular technical issue i would be more forgiving. but that isn't the case when tons of fighting games produce mechanics far better than bourne. what amounts to repetitive cutscenes (the takedowns) doesn't compensate for what is actually a cheap and poorly implemented button mashing implementation of, well i was going to say a 1980's fighting game but those titles were far less crippled in fight mechanics than is bourne. i am not so much of a fanboy about something i am unwilling to look at the facts that TONS OF REVIWERS HAVE NOTED, i won't settle for crap in a game which has no reason to be there. none. like that moron sniping level that is ALL QTE! YOU NEVER ACTUALLY CONTROL THE SNIPER RIFLE. that is just an example of sheer stupidity from the dev team. you go ahead and be happy in your substandard world worshipping gta4 and kissing bourne's ass. i won't so it. i ask for actual quality in a title. if it were left to people like you we would forever be getting crap titles shoveled at us.

and i honestly think you are willing to swallow a piece of sewage. the game has bad issues that make it far from being a buy, it isn't even a rental but you want to overlook those things and pretend they don't exist. i won't. if these were matters of the dev team being unable to bridge a particular technical issue i would be more forgiving. but that isn't the case when tons of fighting games produce mechanics far better than bourne. what amounts to repetitive cutscenes (the takedowns) doesn't compensate for what is actually a cheap and poorly implemented button mashing implementation of, well i was going to say a 1980's fighting game but those titles were far less crippled in fight mechanics than is bourne. i am not so much of a fanboy about something i am unwilling to look at the facts that TONS OF REVIWERS HAVE NOTED, i won't settle for crap in a game which has no reason to be there. none. like that moron sniping level that is ALL QTE!

REVIEWERS?! well I must be wrong about this game. Of coarse reviewers know exactly what I like. Who am I to have my own opinion, thanks for reminding me.

your a completely blind  to the fun and enjoyabilty of this game, I can't see how anyone can possible stand true in saying theres absolutely NOTHING good about this game and that its like a 1980 fighting game. This clearly proves you don't know what your talking about, thus your arguement is null. As for the QTE during the sniping, its was fine, I don't know if you seen the movie, but this QTE portrayed it nicely. If the player was in control of the sniper rifle we would not be able to take down all targets and a moving car with such presions in such a short amount of time. Of coarse it isn't going to be realistic, the movie isn't realistic so why should a game based of the movie be any different? If your looking for some kind of fighting SIM (if there even is such a thing) then good luck find one that you enjoy.

ha ha ha, you are a joke. what was the tagline for this game "become bourne", okay mr forgetful? the tagline wasn't, manipulate bourne like a svengali. make bourne do things by testing your reflexes in moronic QTE moments. you will suffer just like jason bourne as we come up with what are essentially minin games that suck the experience right out of the game! ha ha, i get a kick out of people with no standards that will take anything thrown at them. i bet you love every wii game ever made.

ROFL people like me are responsible for crap titles. I haven't told anyone this but I am one of two people resposible for Lair turning out bad. I had a huge amount of input on Haze too.

The problem with your posts is you are letting your ego get in the way. You go into long detail in other threads ripping a game apart (wow surprise) because the shooting isn't realistic enough for you. You go into detail about where to shoot an enemy and how many times. You even mention a military school. Then in the next breath you are buying The Hulk. 'nuf said.

Seriously get off the cross Bud, there is only room for Jesus.

ROFL. I see that Kevers is a "joke" for liking the game. You have a thread of credability left. hang on to it.

jesus was a punk that got what he deserved. you are the one trying to throw yourself up on the cross and die for your beloved game. too funnyl

and i could care less what someone like you thinks about me. considering your tastes in games a condemnation from you is like the good house keeping seal of approval.

i remember something you see to have forgotten. games are supposed to be fun. here is 'what else' you missed for only reading parts of posts that suit people like you that don't like the facts. when a game wants to be a romp and be a far out epic about some wild topic and have fun then it should be fun. but when a game makes pretenses towards realism it should at least possess a thread of that realism...and it should be fun.

and here is the best part, when you decide to make a game based on an established character (like bourne) then you should have some degree of bourne in the game instead of hobbling him like a 5 year old girl that can only punch and kick if he takes 5 seconds between each one to catch his breath. moments in the game should allow the player to flow naturally to a point not be put in a straightjacket and forced into the moment and kept in that jacket all during that moment. it is contrived, cheap and quite frankly poor game making. and because you are willing to support some crap shovelware title that falls into the typical movies make bad games (like the hulk turned out) you have no credibility. the last time i checked a shred still ranks above that.

Hey maybe someone should try putting some 'quality' in his posts too.
Once in a while is always welcome. If not, continue to buy into your own crap.
Sure,GTA4 is a sub-standard game with only some flashy elements.I just forgot how fun it was.
The Bourne Conspiracy is an excellent rental.

That's exactly it, my friend. In this context, the Bourne Conspiracy is a decent game. I think that more or less closes the thread, seeing as morganfell already crapped all over it.
