I really don't get why SCEE don't respond as fast as SCEA when it comes to content and whatnot. It's not like it's rocket science what SCEA is doing.

They can create there own unique/ original thing that only Europeans get and us US'ers might envy.

Neither do I, I feel like they have their A team working in America & they are porting stuff over to Europe using their B team. And as we know ports can often suffer.

People put forward that there are lots of translation and legal issues. But I don’t see these as issues, SCEE should by now be proficient in dealing with these, so it should take no time whatsoever. I mean it’s not like it comes as a surprise at the end of development, “oh right, I remember, we have to translate it, better delay the game another few months”.

Or perhaps that is how they work.

Europe is again being left out by Sony. Not getting it anyways, most of the content will be on the internet as soon as its released anyways and I'm not really willing to pay for demos or betas for that matter.

Also I wanted to chime in on this. I advise everyone who's interested in home to buy the 24.99 subscription. I have a feeling that will be one of Sony's requirements for those looking for a chance to get in the Home closed beta.

Some people are blowing this way out of proportion... Paying either 2$ for one interactive e-zine or paying 25$ for a year of the same thing will not, in fact, evolve into a subscription-based PSN. And, as so astutely stated by many others; Qore isn't even affiliated with Sony, in the respects many are worried about. Do you really think Sony would destroy the one thing they've touted gaily about most? A free online network? And even if the money was going to Sony... You'd be, most likely, funding things like Home or the production of some long awaited games.
Don't you ever wonder why Xbox Live has a more stable and connected community? Because people pay for quality.

dude, we know it's only affiliated with PSN.
i'm not angry really, i actually don't care.
sony will find ways to fund Home and PSN. think about how much $ Home can rake in from ads to buying gear and such.
Qore is, as we all know, just another feature that you can get if you wanted to.

I think this whole issue is interesting.

If you think it's a ripoff, that's cool. If you think it's a good deal, that's cool too, IMO.

But right now, you've got the debate over how good the deal is, plus two other components:

1. Is Qore Sony's Live Gold? And, if so, then are Sony fans owned by their own past statements?

2. Will this lead to Sony charging for online services currently offered for free?

The first is just trolling begat by trolling, supported by bad analogies.

The second is more interesting because it has a direct link to why so many people are against the wii or casual games, for example. People are so concerned that market forces will affect them, that they get way too concerned about others' purchasing decisions. It's sad, because these sort of fights actually turn people off to your view. A casual gamer can very quickly grow to hate genres of hardcore simply because of "hardcore" trolls. So it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. It'd be better to let it go. If the content's not worth it, few will renew or purchase longterm.
