ORIGINAL: sonarus Don't say that You may be right. Sony giving it to a 3rd party dev and changing the name would allow them to save face for it not being close to the trailer. But ps3 informer said it was already looking close to the trailer I'm also a fan of 8 Days but the fact is that E3 trailer was CG, just like MotorStorm and Killzone 2's. Also, I wouldn't trust PS3I much. quote:
ORIGINAL: S3NTRY No that wasn't the problem at all, the gameplay was smooth, (and that trailer had gameplay), and it was playable and everything. Reports even say it looked better then Killzone 2, and had better fluid animations then Uncharted. No, that was pure CG but based on gameplay (A target render if you will). All games have them. From original MGS to COD2 and such, they release many stunning target renders. Sometimes they reach that level in real-time (COD2) and sometimes they don't (MStorm). But 8 Days was pure CG an no single site or magazine ever got to get an eyes-on or something like that at the game running in real-time. The only exception is a tech demo of a car been fired upon by machine guns that was used later in 8D trailer. Yes, we all know what CG is. Actually several people, and a site or two, has seen the game in action, btw. The tech demo of a gas station in 8 Days (we didn't know what game it was at the time) at E3 2005 was in real time, and looks pretty damn similar to what we saw at E3 2006, which DID include real time elements, as well as CGI. It is known that the game itself blends in real-time and CGI in-game while playing, very smoothly. 06 trailer did include gameplay, I know that for sure. Yes, and tech demo of the car getting shot up and ripped apart, was in real time. Look at that real time care, and look at the car in the E3 06 trailer. nearly identical. Fact is that trailer was not like Killzone 2, or Motor Storms' CG trailers, it was real. quote:
ORIGINAL: DrPirate I'll just do it myself so I can't read it properly. English isn't my first language. 3rd party devs are in talks with Sony to finish and release 8 Days. Still there is no word on the status of The Getaway 3. From what I've been told, If Sony sold the rights to the IP, the new owner would have to agree to certain conditions. These conditions preclude: Sticking to the originally planned storyline, online features, and utlizing the same engine the game is already built on. What do you all think? OH, well you replying to ME in the previous post so I thought you were talking to me, no the OP.
