i have Civ on my Mac but i really hate gaming on it. that's why i prefer console gaming. it's more comfy and i can kick back and enjoy it. and hiving it blasting out of my HDTV & 5.1 is just sweetness.

exactly!! finally, Civ with my feet up on the coffee table, relaxing on the sofa. Ahhh....

I dunno about that. Any comfort is countered by the really clunky console interface. Its gonna be a major pain in the ass to keep tracks of all your units in largers maps. The scroll speed isn't very smooth and the game need a view window to give you a reference point on the globe. Another missing feature is a map filter that quickly highly all the resources in the know world. I would hate to constantly scroll the map to indentify which key resource like say, iron or oil for my civ to control.

Despite some concerns the game did exceed my expectations. Somehow Sid managed to capture that one more turn addiction and translate it to the console. Now if only the controls and interface are better...

I'm a hugh Civ fan, I've played 2, 3, 4 and all the expansions fanatically.

I'm a lot more hyped about Civ Rev than I am about MGS 4. It cannot come soon enough.

Plus its a freaking Civ game, do you really want to try to read and manage everything from 5 feet away?

Also Cat, your a WEAK ASS PC gamer. I am stripping you of that title.

So how does it compare to Civ 4? That game was seriously addicting and each game took a lot of time. When the game came out, I officially lost my life for some time. With my finals on the way, if the new game is indeed as addicting and matches are as long as Civ4, I better skip it till mid Summer.

As one might expect it seems a bit "dumbed down" from th PC version, but just as addictive.

Thanks. Anything from Sid is worth it. Plus this is still a Civ game.

I thought the demo was great...I'm getting it, I'm still hooked on civ4 atm.

The only thing I hope for is bigger maps...I only made 5 cities before the whole continent was filled with my cities and a few other civ's.

The demo map was really small.

Wasn't really intserested on this demo but you guys make me want to try it out and see for myself how good it is.

The only RTS game I played (and was hooked) was Rise of Nations and it was pretty cool. I liked when I used to reach information age, create nuclear Silos, study nuclear energy and what not and nuke my enemies to hell and let them beg for mercy or alliance!

It certainly is. Despite being dumbed down a little you'll get that one more turn addiction almost instantly. The only question is, is it worth $60 for a game with less depth?

That is the longest I have ever spent playing a demo (and some full games actually).  I'll be buying it for sure.

I really loved the demo, it was really fun and the control is perfect for the consoles, but I wish there was a save option at the end of the demo so you can start right where you left when you get the full game.

I also noticed the low quality of the cut scenes but I think they compressed it for the demo, anyway it’s excellent and I already pre-ordered it from Amazon, I’ll see you guys online.

Hang on; do we in the UK actually get this game first?????

All the sites I’ve looked at have the games release as 13th JUNE, so there is only a few days to go.

I was bloody pissed that we still haven’t got Oblivion expansion on our PS Store yet, but getting Civ Rev early makes up for all!!!

Ok, so I'm a complete dork and I replayed the demo a couple more times (I really wish there was the option to start as more than Rome or Egypt, I would've tried them all!).

A couple of you guys have mentioned the maps, and I can only assume that the maps will be larger, or at least there will be map sizing options like in Civ IV.  I know that they're expressed interest in shortening the game (they had that option in Civ IV, too) and I'm okay with that as long as, like in Civ IV, you can choose a longer game.  And a giant map.  Giant, I say!!

Man that demo and future game kind of sucked. It is really, really, really dumbed down. The nice simple interface was alright, but it's lost a lot of it's managing tools from Civ4. I guess it's a good transition for Console gamers, but as a classic Civ player this game is seriously lacking in complexity (which has it's goods and bads).

Personally, I'm sticking with the old Civ Games.

P.S. since when did Civilization need sex appeal to sell the game? What's up with everyone getting boob jobs?
