His actual quote in context was referring to having a base in Iraq for 100 years if needed. There is nothing unreasonable about this. We only have one permanent military base in the Middle East (Turkey) and that place is going to go ape-shit crazy when oil starts to run out. While I don't agree that we have to be the police of the world, it's not as bad of a comment as some of the Democrats make it sound.

And, just to give you some context, we have had active military bases in Germany since right after World War II. That's over 60 years.

and those military camps are one of the reasons so many countries hate us if a country wants us to leave we should leave them be unless its something that poses a actual danger to america or the other countries people. im pretty sure germany's not planning another war anytime soon

ah but thats interesting that you mentioned that. Russia seems dissapointed that we wanted to put a missle defense system in Europe(was it the urkrane? i forget im a littl tired) and russia for some reason didnt like that idea...and they seem to be having alot of issues in russia as well. Then you have china

I just hope russia doesnt try to pull anything or china or both..basically ww3

I don't disagree with you, I was just clarifying his position. Most people just heard the Democrats going on about how McCain wants us to fight the Iraqi war for 100 years.

But yeah we will have to pull out sometime, but not too quick or else the region will be destabilized and go to chaos even more than now. As in lots of deaths, My mind is kinda blurry here, but it would be like in the gulf war when we told the Shiites(i believe) that we would back them when going against Hussein then we left....and they were slaughtered. Oh and you have the whole sunni vs shiite issue too.

As for healthcare...well either way you go there are alot of problems either way you go

im pretty sure mccain said he wanted to be out by the end of his 4 years in office, not too fast like obama wants... kinda like what you said, not to pull out too fast.

and for healthcare, yea our system now sucks and U healthcare sounds decent, but i dont see how it will work, our country will find a way to still spend the same as it does now, plus U healthcare costing more.
