i have begun to believe that there is a certain amount of prejudice  as  to what gets locked or doesn't get locked.

If a mod feels passionate about the line of conversation, they will let the topic continue to live, even risking the topic falling apart like crazy just so they can get their jollies.

But if it is something they don't enjoy or don't have special interest in, no problem lockin it.

I have also noted many low quality topics made by specific members which get a pass likely because they have good personal standing with mods, where as other topics of greater quality get locked simply out of spite.

I mean it is kind of silly the whole idea of a "moderator" is to be moderate and promote healthy discussion instead of simply censoring and shutting down discussions.

why do I have the feeling that if this wasn't a Sunday, this thread would also be locked.

Says the shutter-downer of threads

But, I do agree with what you're saying.

because it criticizes the moderators of the site who lock/delete topics which even dare slightly suggest that they are not the paragons of self sacrificing, hard workers that they like to think themselves as.

that is exactly the kind of ignorant statements and thinking which get threads shut down.

Yeah for the most part I don't find it to be a huge problem, though I have seen some locking that didn't quite make sense to me, example, this one guy who was asking how he can make money during the summer before starting college in the fall, and if memroy serves it was in the members chat zone. So I don't understand why this got locked, but it did.

Well, I'm not too sure whether you were being sarcastic or not, but my post was made well within the parameters of "friendliness". I know you think the mods are on your case, but you have no reason to think I am too. I don't recall having wronged you in the past. If I have, please tell me when and how, and I shall make it up to you.

welcome to the Site Suggestions and Help section.

If you do not receive a message or there is not a final post left by a moderator indicating why the thread was locked, it never hurts to check which mods were online and PM him/her. Not that members don't appreciate the chance to express their feelings about the job mods and admins are doing.

After reviewing the thread I suspect it was the OP that prompted the lock, not subsequent posts. However, that's pure speculation.

A diplomatic leader, I like it

I'm going to stop being harsh on the moderators now, I suppose everyone else getting angry's sort of made me angry, too. Wait... would that make me... part of the problem?!

You make too many assumptions, relax.

I was the original poster what did i do to prompt the lock, if it was my language that it was locked for that wouldnt make sense because pardon my language the rudest thing i said in the thread was " if that happens sorry im takin my rear back to Jamaica." Everything i do on the forum seems to cause a problem with someone, example someone told me to trade in my mother and i respond with a curse word, ok i see where 2 wrongs dont make a right but come on his comment was unecessary and nothing was said or done to him but my comment was deleted what gives.
