ORIGINAL: grantps3 another great thing for sales on LBP is that it is a game that a parent would pick out for a kid ( not saying its a kiddy game) that I think will get the hole family involved. Exactly, and the ps3 does need those, despite what the hardcore would say. My sisters-in-law are 12, 14 and 19 (big family) and they love building and customizing things in games like Animal Crossing, or taking pics in SSBB. I know they'd spend months in this game. Honestly, I'd rather my kids played this (if I had them) then about any other game (stimulates creativity). but the thing is, i think the majority of current PS3 owners fall into the Hardcore demographic, they'll also want LBP, don't get me wrong, and LBP could very well sell a boat load, but i don't know if it's a system seller for parents, but it could. the only way i see it selling well is with great marketing. it's going to be a great game and i hope it does sell a ton and pushes the PS3 for the casuals and younger audience. i chose MGS4, FFXIII and GoW3 because the fan base is huge for each IP quote:
ORIGINAL: HeavyRaines17 The hard-core market is much easier to track than the casual market. Hardcore gamers read websites like these, see that go up, and jump on it and tell all of their friends. Casual games build an audience and a following and spread like wildfire. And LBP has both of these markets. I know this will probably be one of the only games this year that I HAVE to get on Day One. And I would consider myself a semi-hardcore gamer. that's the thing though, only the hardcores that lurk game sites know about LBP and are the ones who introduce it to family members. that's why i say it needs heavy marketing to reach the casuals.
