Status: offline 		I wasn't really impressed, graphically it looks fine but it seemed very much like the first game. Coop will be good but I am not sure about mp.

Seems like 8 - 9's again to me.

Same here, I'd thought it would be better. Just 1st impressions, I'd obviously have to play the game first.

How is this game still "a long way from release" - It's out in November, it's June now. There is very little they can do to the graphics in five months.

Status: online 		I liked it, it made me want to actually play it. I think the coolest thing was the draw distance, and those fast running guys, enemies like that are always fun have to, esp in a night level lol

Status: online 		I don't know...if we see the difference between ps2 games at the end of its cycle the games got really beautiful.  Is KZ2 confirmed 1080p?

yeah, games can immprove a lot in 5 months, just have patience
besides the graphics were great in my opinion

Status: offline 		I'm impressed with the massive scale Insomniac is achieving with RFOM 2. In terms of graphic, GeOW2 does look better than RFOM2, but in terms of gameplay and scale, RFOM 2 have GeOW2 beat hands down.

Status: offline 		Resistance is more about scale than graphics of course R2 isn't going to measure up to the likes of KZ2 and Gears 2. But everything will be massive.

Same here, people talk a lot about scale, but where?


All the in game footage I saw was down restricted city streets, nothing that I haven't seen in other video games.


Granted the 300ft monster looks impressive, but we have no idea how you actually fight it, that might still be a linier and restricted battle.


I was also hoping for more than the one vehicle section & for vehicles in multiplayer, but you cannot have everything.

Status: offline 		resistance 1 sucked compared to gears 1 in every department...what makes u think the 2nd will to gears 2? gameplay in gears is extremely fun when i play resistance it just feels like any other shooter

Status: online 		I enjoyed Gears single player more but I preferred Resistance’s multiplayer, 4 player split screen was a big plus, while gears only managed 2 player.

Resistance had a relatively good length, took me double the time to complete than Gears.

Status: offline 		Gears and Resistance are very similar in some ways. There is nothing really amazing or very good about them to be honest. Gears wasn't all that, was it good? Yes. Was it very good? No. At the time the cover was cool but after playing RB6, GRAW, Army of Two, Uncharted and Dark Sector I'm really tired of this cover system.

However my biggest beef with Gears of War 2 is its fatal flaw. It doesn't really look better than the Gears of War PC version. Which really sucks.

Status: offline 		what's with all this Gears of war talk ?? I'm in a thread about Resistance 2.

my impressions on the looks of what we've seen so far:

  • The animations look alot better, there's a point where a chimera suddenly turns to look at our screen and it looks fantastic.
  • The water looks incredible. I found myself suprised with the water.
  • The textures seem a bit placeholder, it's obvious that they are not finished, some were bland and blurry, whereas some were very detailed.
  • The amount of enemies running at Nathan Hale seemed very intense, I really enjoyed watching them run at us.

Everything looked pretty tight, except the graphics. I'm sure that they will improve them alot over the 5 months.
