No-one is denying this game will look good, it has to, they set the standards high themselves.

However I’m worried they are just going through the standard FPS checklist & Killzone 2 won’t really offer anything new.

Every time I see someone complaining about a game that offers nothing "new" to a genre, I roll my eyes. Very few games ever do...Especially good ones. They refine and improve, they don't necessarily add anything. CoD4 is a fine example. Everything it's doing has been done before. Not necessarily as well, but it has been done before. It's the solid combination of elements that make it successful, not any "innovation." :P

Ugh, using that damnable buzzword made me throw up in my mouth a little.

If Killzone 2 had all the same elements as CoD4, and executed them just as well, but with better graphics, it would be a better game. It wouldn't have to bring anything new to the table. I'm not saying it is going to - in fact, I'd place my bet the other way around. However, the point stands. Improving on an old formula doesn't mean doing something new, it just means doing something better.

I can't imagine the last time I've played a game that actually offered something new, even the "perfect" games like CoD 4, Halo 3 and GTA 4 offered nothing new. Nevermind the fact that up coming releases like Gears of War 2 and Resistance 2 are essentially shooters by the numbers type games. Yet for reason if KZ 2 fail to offer anything new it'll be label as a dissappointment to some people. WTF?

Its a shooter, you shoot things in this type of game. As long as the game looks good and you're too busy to trying to stay alive to care about pointless things like AI, feature lists and "innovations" then it'll be a great game pure and simple.

what "NEW" things halo3/cod4/R6/99% of other shooters brought to table that you want it from KZ 2???and what about the cover system?Isn't it new?GOD... STOP WHINING ABOUT THIS GAME!!!

I can't remember a cover system like KZ 2 in a FPS,can you name it?

New or not, the professional journalists who’ve actually played the game don’t think this is shaping up to beet COD4.

Like I said, a couple of months ago, before the wave of previews, I was really hyped for Killzone 2.

However with each new report I read, it’s looking like an amazing graphical showpiece, but without a ‘AAA’ shooter laying behind it.

Just my impressions given information available, obviously I won’t know until I play the game, but for now I think it’s best not to get to excited.

I completely understand where you're coming from, I feel the same way, but I know I'll still enjoy the game, it's just that it'll probably tank in the review segment...

But, Guerilla browses the us.ps.com forums and I see they've been getting allot of feedback on things you've said needs to be changed, they even post at the forums too, they've got their own, I've also posted something for them directly copying and pasting the negative views on kz and what you said needs changing, I think they'll follow suite, because I've been on that board since four years ago and after killzone released they talked about how they'd change it up in the enxt game..
