Ooh, what about Chinese Water Torture?

Oh, and this one seems bad, too:

Water Boarding is not nearly as horrible as what the Vietnamese did to our soldiers, nor is it as bad as what Al Qaeda or other terrorist group do to captured soldiers.

Have you heard stories of how they return someone to the US, but their body has been mutilated and is in pieces...

My buddy did a paper on Unit 731...sick stuff man.

I read it and felt a little sick after reading it.

Unit 731 did some real horrible things to people...lethal human experimentation which often resulted in death.

Some of things they did made no sense...like surgically removing their stomachs and reattaching the esophagus to the intestines while they were still alive and conscious...I don't see what they were trying to achieve there, but then again I'm not a doctor...they could have done that just for kicks, who knows?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unit_731

They really died in horrible ways :(

The rack:

I was recently in a play about the relationship between King Henry VIII's last wife Queen Catherine Parr and Anne Askew, the only woman to die in the tower of London.  She was tortured on the rack, so I did the research and...it's disgusting.  Everything pops and tears until your limbs come right off, and the nut jobs administering the death by torture made people strip down so they could see the results more clearly.

^Yes but the psychological effects of it before death are one of the worst.

I suspect that immediately prior to my death I won't be terribly concerned with any lasting psychological damage.

As did people who were in the German National Socialist regime. And had been done to slaves. As had been done during the Spanish Inquisition. As had been done in 300 AD, precluded by much that had happened in 600 BC...

Some people might take this the wrong way, but whenever we hear about atrocities of which the victims are American soldiers or civilians, it seems to be a far bigger deal than if the victims were those of other nations.

It's us (America, Britain) who should be ashamed of what we've done to others, I'm afraid.

I think it is just human nature to look at their own group with rose-colored glasses. That's not saying I disagree with you, it's just understandable.

its probally because America has a huge steak in the world. So when somthing happens to Americians, its televised all over the world through afiliated broadcast stations and whatnot. Its just the way it is, Here in Canada we get more US politics on the news than our own at times. Most of our channles comes from the states

I agree, but from what I've seen from other nations, they aren't the same in that regard. II think it's just as much to do with the Western psyche.

Probably. There is definitely more of an ego in America than other places. I think it's just because we are a young country (relatively) and have been the big man on campus since WW2. We are getting a little cocky.

Don't think I'm talking about America only, it basically goes for the West as a whole... besides Canada, they don't really do anything.

I'm only joking, you crazy Canadians!
