ORIGINAL: hartsickdisciple I saw this forum, and felt the need to register for this site.. just to comment on this. I don't know what kind of cars people have been driving, but Grand Turismo is NOT realistic at all. Cars handle like plows, and don't turn or grip at reasonable speeds. They also do not sound like the real thing. Not to mention that many of the cars don't perform anything like their real-world counterparts. I can't speak to GT5 when it comes to this particular example.. but in GT4, try driving the Dodge SRT-4. It runs OVER a full second slower in the 1/4 mile than a real stock one does, and doesn't sound anything like the real car. Also, the engine revs far too high. It's utterly ridiculous that people think the GT series is realistic. An arcade-style racing game is a game like the Need For Speed series. Alot of fun, but nobody is saying the cars handle or go like they really would. But they did AT LEAST get the sounds right, unlike the GT games. To myself and my friends, who are driving enthusiasts, GRID is the real deal. The cars handle realistically, they sound halfway decent, and the graphics are at least an 8/10. That is a driving SIMULATION, not an arcade racer. I think that for people who got used to the GT series, it seems like an arcade racer.. but truly, it is realistic. Cars in the GT series just don't perform like real cars.. I don't know what else to say. I've driven everything from 3000gt vr4, 300zx, 350z, mini-vans, 1-ton pickups, neons, sentras.. and GT falls flat on it's face trying to simulate most of the cars in the game. I'll give GT5 a chance when I can get some more time.. but GRID has me won over. The fact that I can play a GT game, and play GRID back-to-back, and then go drive my car.. and come away KNOWING that GRID feels like real performance driving is all I need to know. Everybody's entitled to their opinion, however myself and my friends agree that GT doesn't feel at all like the real thing, and never has.. go GRID. But this is GT5P we're talking about not GT4. Polyphony Digital completely overhauled the driving physics instead of just merely improving upon the GT4 physics. Until you can get your hand on a GT5P and preferably by the way of a good steering wheel, you're missing where GT5P really shines: the aforementioned physics, the handling and the uncanny ability to actually discern and define all the different cars in the game. When you're driving the Nissan R35 GT-R in Prologue, you'll understand why the fuss (on the GT-R) is not merely a hype . I've been playing GRID for almost two weeks (bought it on the first day it was released here in Canada) and I love the racing aspect of the game. Using my dualshock 3 (gamepad) this game is freakin awesome, it gets my blood going and I have to admit it is as a game, it is much better and more complete than GT5P and the damage although less than what I expected, is still an great effort on Codemasters part. But if I want to drive a performance car and actually be immersed in the process, then I pulled out my Logitech G25 and put GT5P on my PS3. Yes, compared to Prologue, GRID is as arcade as they come (which is a compliment) and while it does work with the G25, with the gamepad, however, it feels so much better (to me). I can go on and on comparing to death the merit of GRID and where it miserably fails and vice versa. It's not so much about a choice since I don't have a one track mind (pun intended), I can enjoy both games for what they are. But when final GT5 arrives, I'm afraid, there won't be room for anything else :)
