The first one i can remember is Sega vs Nintendo(Genesis vs SNES).  Then moved on to Playstation vs Nintendo 64.  Then Playstation 2 vs Xbox, now Playstation 3 vs Xbox 360.

And it will be there when we have the next consoles coming out. Most of us are males, and males have the tendency to defend whatever they own, and some of the ones on here are young and are easily persuaded when not given all the facts, so that also helps fuel the war when they argue w/o any knowledge.

It would be weird if everyone was nice and we didnt have the flametards to balance the world.

I admit, from when I was about 8 to about 12 I was heavily one sided and defensive in the console wars.  That's the time when SNES and Sega was going tooth and nail at each other.  If the internet was around back then, people would truly realize that PS3 vs Xbox 360 is a joke compared to Nintendo vs Sega.  For the record,  I defended Nintendo to death.  Super NES and NES is the reason why I've owned EVERY Nintendo console to date.  I respected them so much that I'm willing to stay loyal to that company.  On the flip side, Sega nearly won me over with the Dreamcast later on down the line.  It took me until I was a grown man to realize how damn great the Genesis was back in the day.

Status: offline 		oh the old, genesis can do what nintendon't campaign... i lived for my genesis, nothing against SNES but i had a genesis and it was all i needed, except killer instinct

    Status: offline     		Microsoft has a lot to prove b4 i completely embrace it. Don't get me wrong, the 360 has its good games, but really, they're just following the path that was paved by PS. XBOX would have never got its start w/o the support from all the franchises that migrated over from PS.

    I've always owned PS, but I did buy an original XBOX when they first came out. Once all the hype died down I found myself going back to the PS2 for games like RE4 and Shadow of the Colossus.

    I'm still critical of 360, and that's why I haven't bought one. I don't believe in paying for online play unless its an MMO, and I don't like the fact that a lot of 360 games are ported to pc (why not just invest in my PC if I'm gonna play PC games?). Couple that with the rampant RRoD and it's no wonder you have a lot of people who are anti xbox.

    Xbox in general just strikes me as trying to hard to appeal to little kids. With its bright color scheme and flashy design - all those testosterone driven games. I like PS because Japanese dev. seem to be more into puzzle solving and cognitive skills when it comes to games. Not to mention Sony is much more reliable when it comes to electronics.

    And I hate the feel of the 360 interface, it feels like some retarded version of windows. PS3 is simple and you have more freedom to customize.
