ORIGINAL: Solid_Snake Let's just agree to disagree. Cause i'm a huge MARVEL fan, and I personally think Singer destroyed X-Men from the beginning. The mix of characters, the story, arggghh. Plus, he continued the string of Superman as garbage. They need to drop Superman and not touch it for another 10 years, and re-boot it like they did with Batman I agree with you on Singer hacking X-Men. They were merely OK, nothing more. Hell, the cartoons had more depth and revolved more with the comics than the movies did. Don't even get me started on X-Men 3...I will never forgive Brett Ratner for f*cking up the Phoenix storyline. As for Superman, I could care less about the character in general. A superbeing who can be harmed only by a rock? Get the f*ck out of here! I've never understood that general premise. However, I did watch Superman Returns and it paled next to the first two movies. I thought I watching a superhero love story, which is wackety wack. Bryan Singer needs to stick to crime dramas. I want to seesomething like The Usual Suspects again from him. Maybe Valkyrie will be that, but please PLEASE someone take the camera from him before he makes another Superman! I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. But to be fair to Singer, it's a lot easier to develop and explore characters in a multi-episode cartoon series (which I absolutely love) than it is in a 2 hour movie. As I've stated I have always liked the Singer movies of X-men, but I mean if you want to be picky with it, I don't really think anyone could really do an X-men justice with just a two hour movie. I mean you have so many characters to develop and the story and concept is too supernatural to crossover well into a live action movie. But I thought Singer did a good job making X-men realistic (similar to the way that Nolan is making Batman realistic, which is one of the reasons I love it) with his X-men movies, focusing more on the segration and prejudice against mutants and how the characters cope with the prejudice differently. Truthfully, I think the only way one could do any justice to a live action X-men would be with a television series where they could develop the characters individually through different arcs (kinda like heroes, only better). And whoever said Rattner needs punished for what he did to the Pheonix storyline was dead on, talk about a debacle. I just like to pretend that X-3 never happened. Oh yeah, and your right about Singer's latest project, Superman Returns sucked IMO. Well, we don't necessarily disagree. I did enjoy the Singer X-Men films for what they were but I agree that the universe is too vast to do proper justice to the comic series. Storm was a thorn in my side though, no matter how hot Halle Berry is.
