I remember Odion and I got in a debate over this a while back. LOL.  I'm not a big Blizzard fan, they make excellent games but they're just not my style.  To be honest, the best and last Blizzard game I played was Blackthorne.

Anyway, as a company.  The best developers go into a battle royal toss up because I simply cant pick one over the other.  Konami and Capcom end up in a tie.  But as far as single person goes, my vote goes to this gentleman here.

YU SUZUKI. The man who put Sega on the map.

Blizzard doesn't get lucky, they have nothing but talent, and make more money in a year then 88 other COUNTRIES in the world. Blizzard had massive hits before WoW, SC has sold 11 million copies and was declared the greatest RTS game of all time, Diablo 2 sold 16 million copies, and is still the best hack and slash rpg, Warcraft 3 sold like 6 million, and had amazing scores.

They are the best.

If I was going to add more to the list

Old Maxis- The entire Sim franchise (the other sim games) yes pleaee
Old Lucusarts- Grim Fandango, Day of the Tenticale, Escape from Moneky Island
Old Sierra- God to many to count
and Bioware before they gotten eaten

I would say Intendo is in the top with the classics like Mario, zeld, metroid and all that but with Blizzard no but I would say Sega has brought some sense into video games with sonic and crap

Any producer who has not been making games since the NES era does not qualify as the 'best of all time.'

I agree with Bloodmask.  Maybe it's for nostalgic reasons but when you have a strong track record consistently for about 25 years, that says a lot about the prestige of that company. Speaking of, I dont know if you want to call them developers, but Activision is another company that deserves to be mentioned as legend affiliates in the gaming industry.  They have made great games since the Atari 2600.

A lot of the developers back then really tested their own versatility.  I respect Blizzard a whole lot because they have made some legendary and culture changing titles, especially for PC.  But at the same time, they only stick to one genre.  Where as companies like Konami and Capcom have diversified themselves.  Making games from actions, RPG's and even NFL and NBA games.

one genre?

Really?

RTS, RPG hack and slash, MMORPG, that looks like 3 different genres right there, plus Lost Vikikngs which was a platformer, their death racing game, which was well a racing game

Fork is back!

Anyways, I've seen a topic like this before. I posted in that one. I can't seem to find it... Harry mentioned Sid Meier and that is my pick as well. I'll never forget Colonization...

Powerstone was a fantastic game.

You know what other Dreamcast game I liked? Toy commander. It brought out my inner man-child, and the multiplayer was great.
