Yes and no, considering how easy it is to transfer saves from each other and sites like Gamefaqs people would be inclined to download saves to games they never even played just for leveling up. The system would be broken and worthless then and probably not even worth partaking in. Yeah you have to replay games for trophies now, but hell at least you have some replay value if you choose to do so.
Imagine having to kill all 300 pigeons in GTA IV again...
That just replaced the whale in my nightmares.
Well...the goal of trophy is to add replay value and it seems like Sony succeeded.
