    I think that's a good pick - Insomniac does a great job with story. Ratchet and Clank had a really fun one, too - their best one yet!

    Nope.  God of War is an excellent game (so i've heard) but Sega has a bombshell that will blow every storyline out of the water.  It will even top Metal Gear.  If this gets announced at E3, I'm going apeshit.








    Yeah Ryo, I see it coming too.

    Status: offline     		Well, there's alot more to it, but Insomniac just didn't go out of their way to put it out there.

    Go here:

    In the U.K. region, it's the story of a little girl as she watches people die and gets shuffled into a bunker. She says how scared she is, and she describes what was going on in the country, etc.

    In the U.S.A. region, there's the timeline of the world history as if the Chimeran invasion really happened. They use live videos, newspaper clippings, etc.

    So yeah...Altern history done right, these are among my reasons.

    I played Shenmue on my cousin original X-box and I hated the game.
    I don't know what all the fuss is about.

    Stepping away from the obvious answer of MGS4, I'm going with Folklore on this one if "this gen" means this crop of consoles and not time period, or else Persona 3/FES would win it for me aside from MGS4 of course.     Status: online     		This gen for the PS3, I gotta go with Uncharted.  Personally I enjoyed Uncharted's story the most.     Even my GF that doesn't like hardcore games, enjoyed the story.  She watched the whole cut-scenes with me while I played.

    When I showed her the ending of MGS4, specifically the last part with *SPOILER* Snake and Big Boss, she was like:  Is that guy (Big Boss) going to keep saying the same sh*t over and over again???  When will it end??? Jesus...  hahah    I laughed and turned it off.

    Edit:(Also a reason why Uncharted is way up there for me this gen, but Resistance threw you deeper into the history and makes you a part of it.)


    I also like Resistance's story.  Particularly how they tell the story, you have to dig a bit in the game and online to get into it, but if you do your left wondering about the past; the cloven?  where did the enemy come from?  and your left wondering about the future of course.

    Status: offline     		Mass Effect and Bioshock obviously are the two stand out games this generation with fantastic stories, not only this but the fact that they have worked so much detail into their respective game universes is also impressive
