Children of Men like many others critically acclaimed award caliber movies do not sell like other decent to average movies.  Not all though, but most of them do not boost box office.

Sad...

Yeah, it was ok for me too.

For intanse Michael Clayton was a great movie, great reviews, nominated for Best Picture and George Clooney for Best Actor.   Total gross???  Not even 50 million....     Some movies make more than that in a weekend.

@ Smokey.   It's ok.  Slow as hell, but if you can get passed the slow pace, it's interesting.     If you haven't seen Michael Clayton, I recommend it with my eyes closed.

:)

Michael Clayton i haven't had a chance to see yet.

Shoot em up wasn't that slow it is short but it was fun. When a guy puts a carrot through a guys face that is bad ass.

Cool... I haven't seen Shoot'em up.   I want to see it on Bluray, but my local Blockbuster doesn't have it.    I can't watch movies on DVD  anymore :(

WTF!? Disaster movie really has a Heath Ledger joke? I though it was just a rumor. Well, I can now say it:

Someone should a** rape Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer to death, then chop their body parts, burn them, piss on them and then throw them into a toxic waste. Seriously, WTF!?

All the movies I've mentioned are made by most of the people associated with the Scary Movie franchise.

Actually no. Those two a**holes that made Epic, Date, Spartan and Disaster movie were only 2 of the 9 writers of the Scary Movie 2 which is considered the worst Scary Movie yet. Scary Movie 1 and 2 were made by Wayans bros (Little Man... ) while the Scary Movie 3 and 4 were made by creators of Airplane and Naked Gun movies, AKA the best spoof movies of all time. They produced and made Superhero Movie and that's why it's at least watchable.

I agree with you Red, but Superhero Movie was as awful as the others IMO.   I literally forced myself to laugh at times.

The only part I remember that I genuinely laughed was when Leslie Nielsen went to the kid's room and knocked the inside wall as if he was knocking the door.   Thought that ws funny.

You know what you need to take out that anger? A real Mortal Kombat game. Is that why you seem tense?

And it's better to piss on them, then burn them. They won't notice the piss if they're burning. And make sure not to rape them to death, because that's questionable on your part. Better to let the toxic waste (I presume it's corrosive) do it.

Well you said it , it HAD one genuine laugh and plus, it had Leslie Nielson, the Frank from Naked Guy! Other films have neither of these.
Epic Movie makes me want to puke and I didn't even bother with Spartans.

So true on MK part. As for rape... well I said "someone", not me  because if I see them I'll skip to the butchering part.

Aren't these by the "great" minds behind the scary movie films?  I too hated them all *though I watched meet the spartans extremely drunk and actually chuckled a few times.  I highly doubt i'd crack a smile if I was sober though.  It's not even just this though, hollywood is full of idiotic writers coming up with idiotic ideas that can only possibly appeal to mildly retarded, high as **** 15 year olds.  It's either a movie full of extremely dim-witted potty humor, or a movie with a crap load of CGI, designed solely to distract you with stunning effects to make up for the fact that everything else in the movie is a disaster.

This is why in the past few years i've stopped just going to the movies based off of a trailer.  Now, the movie better get atleast a 70% on rotten tomatoes, otherwise i'm not spending my money on the extremely over-priced movie admission ticket.  That, and I usually stick to independent films, as they are almost always good.

Hollywood = people looking to make a quick buck.  The entertainment industry's motto should be Quantity over Quality at this point.
