I think my cable goes directly into my regular router, then the ethernet cable that will typicaly go to the PC goes inot my wireless router, then I have a ethernet cable comming out of that one and going to my PS3 and my PC is wireless. Its a ****ty mess. lol

why do you think i have 4 routers? :P what if i told you every port is in use

lol, ok I KNOW I have that setup, its just when I started out typing that I was trying to picture what was happening there, it can get confusing, lol

also, how the hell do you ue up every port? I'm using one on my regular and 2 on my wireless...5 free ports if memory serves.

a mix between computers and hooking the routers into eachother to allow all computers internet access

Linksys WRT54GL

I have that same router and the thing gives me so much problems with the PS3. If I have UPnP on the router and the PS3 tries to access the router for the internet, the router will just reset itself..... I have to mess with soooo many settings just to get the thing to work. Did you have to play with it a little bit to get the PS3 to play friendly with it?

I have the same router and similar problmes, my PS3 is a wired connection, my PC wireless. When I sign into my PS3 I interrupt the connection to my PC and vise versa. Also I get disconnected from the PSN whenever I start a game, but that could just be a PS3 thing.

you people are weird, i have no troubles with it at all, the GL part means you can replace the firmware, i have 3 of them, 2 Gs and 1 GL, plus a d-link DL-524 and you can tell, the Gs and GL are the most stable routers i have ever seen, wireless and wired

If you use the mini version of DD-WRT, you can flash the firmware on a regular WRT54G. I use one and it's awesome. That ****ty Linksys firmware is the problem.

Dam man. I never thought about doing that.... Ha, I know now what I'm doing when I get home from work

Did you get the standard WRT54G only to realize the new models don't have enough internal memory for most custom firmwares too? Man I was pissed when I found that out. Then the good people at DD-WRT saved the day with the mini version. It's still more of a hassle than it needs to be because you have to download this VXkiller thing that flashes the stock firmware off the board, then you need to use this weird Linksys program for bricked routers to FTP the new firmware onto the board. It's complicated, but very much worth it.

Looks like I'm going to have to do some more research then when I get home.  I can't exactly remember what version of my router is but I do know its a pos.  Its a shame though because I hear nothing but good things about Lynksis routers, but what can ya do you know.  I know I'm just sick of going through dam loop hole just to get it to work half a$$ed.

Ur welcome. But as for the love letter, it'll will most likely go to B man for telling me about his router. I checked out some reviews. It really is a bad boy. I wanna bring it home and spank it.  Cuz I like that kind of thing. Don't believe me?... Seek the eight ball.
