Either way, I don't care. I merely used DMC as an example of a game in the lacklustre genre that I'm more than happy to play. God of War is another such series. I'm quite looking forward to the next game, especially after having seen the end of GoW2...

i was kidding, I actually enjoyed DMC a lot, hell I even managed to finsh 4 100%

You see, there is your fatal flaw. I never said that Dante would beat Kratos. I merely stated that Kratos can't beat Dante - which is true. Dante is immortal, remember, without needing to climb out of hell or whatever. He can't die, full stop. Besides, he probably has the greatest skill with his sword than anyone Kratos has met or defeated. Dante would probably keep toying with Kratos endlessly, wearing him down before actually getting off his arse and killing the guy...

And no, it isn't 'cause I'm a girl that I prefer Dante. In almost any media, the stylish characters are always better than the brute ones. They have better lines, a better personality, more fun while killing, and they kill just as many as the brutish ones. Even the guys in 300 had style... Besides, have you noticed that style always gets you hurt less than being a berserker?

But dante's lines are very very corny.

Kratos doesn't talk much. He gets straight to the point and what he usually says revolves around i will kill you.

Kratos would beat dante with the power of the gods. Even if dante is immortal, he shall trap him somewhere so birds can peck his liver out everyday

Most times, guys with style are better but GOW is an exception

I can't really remember dantes lines or even neros lines but i know pretty much everyone in DMC4 had corny lines

I liked DMC and DMC3; that being said, I love the GOW series. I personally believe Kratos to be a much more rounded character. He isn't just a brute force. He had highs, he had lows, he suffered loss by what he himself wrought, much like Hercules in mythology. He tried to break free from what he did to end his misery (i wont get in to spoil it for anyone who hasn't played it yet); in GOWII, he tried to break free from his own fate, go against everything that tried to control him, and set his own life. I think everything he's been through, he's grown and has become a well rounded character. Dante is a product from his father and mother. He is what he is, and takes on demons (some good games, but a very unoriginal story). You never really feel for him.

im hoping more gods are used as bosses in this one, i want to own the hell out of Hades

As for DMC3, this has to be the greatest scene EVER!

Dante: Look at you! Coming in with a big dramatic scene and stealing MY spotlight
Vergil: Well... you don't really believe that HE deserves to be our main event, do you?
Dante: Now that you mention it, you're right.
Arkham: You think you can defeat me? Defeat the power of your father, Sparda?
Vergil: You should come to realize you cannot handle the power of Sparda.
Dante: [Aims sword at Arkham] You're wasting your time, buddy.
[whispers to Vergil]
Dante: I think he needs to learn the hard way.

Sorry, but that's a lot better than any interaction I've seen in God of War. I'll admit that the feel of Kratos' no-nonsense massacring nature is awfully fun, but it doesn't compare to Dante...

PS. There's nothing corny about the stuff he said above!

LMFAO, seriously made me laugh so hard when I first watched it.

Arkham was seriously a fun boss fight though "JACKPOT" has got to be one of the worst catch phrases ever.

Go buy God of War 1 and 2 right now! You'll not find 2 better games on the PS2. Also, they still even look better than some current gen titles. Conan for instance was a GOW rip-off, but it didn't even look as good.

Yeah, "Jackpot!" was lame. But it was like the only lame line in the entire game, so you've got to give them some credit. I really didn't like the direction they went with in DMC2, though... The only good thing about it was the Desperation Devil Trigger...

But back on topic, go get God of War 2 on rental if you wanna know just how awesome the games are.

DMC 2 was.

God Of War and Devil May Cry are similar but at the same time different. Paradoxical? Definitely? Illogical? No.

Kratos can kill gods,true immortals:Zeus. It would not be much trouble for him to get rid of Dante.

Anyway,that's a silly reason to debate.

God Of War is simply best action game on offer and we(fans) surely expect even greater things.

Ninja Gaiden > DMC > Heavenly Sword

I haven't played enough GOW to place it in the above list, but out of the common action games, the only one Itagaki gave props to was God of War. Therefore, I have interest in God of War 3. I hope it is a lot better than DMC4 was, because as fun as DMC4 was...it was a pretty half-assed game. Even Battousai, who completely beat it, would agree.

And yeah, DMC has a ton of cheesy lines, although the voice actors themselves are alright, I'd assume the translations just **** up the jokes. The cutscenes in 4 were good though.

The worst Action Game line goes to Ryu Hayabusa in Ninja Gaiden I:

"Was that...a fiend...as well?"
